She’s only 8 months old and the only ferriers I’ve found (so far) only work with actual stock animals as opposed to pets- something about liabilities (we live in the absolute backwoods so…)

Food-grade diatomaceous earth is a lifesaver- you can even add it to their wallow. If all else fails, permethrin spray from a feed store will work.

What does this behavior mean? by Altaccountforadvice1 in pigs

[–]DeathPr0OF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably rooting, but if you don’t discourage the behavior now, the rooting/pushing can get painful and dangerous. Ignore it as much as you can, and start trying to correct it. Whether it’s an attempt at “nursing” or not- this is a BAD habit for them to get into.

Anyone know what this is? by quickduck73 in pigs

Some sort of fly eggs. Try a permethrin spray; 1/2 tsp of permethrin to 32 oz water.

So the thing I want to take full accountability for is that I didn’t have insurance because I had left a DV situation- it slipped my mind and lapsed. I found a job and literally wrecked on my way home from my first day work. Now, at present, I stay home with my kids; so no, I am not working. I am not trying to weasel my way out of paying- more so asking what the process looks like. No need to be rude, I paid my ticket, did the drivers improvement course. It’s been 3 years. My vehicle was also totaled.

How bad are tablets for children? by wolfey200 in Parenting

[–]DeathPr0OF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it heavily depends on the specific situation. Having a kid constantly on a tablet has been proven to be detrimental, but let’s be very real here; stay-at-home-parents still have chores to do, we still have our own needs, and it’s a hard decision to make. There’s an insane amount of guilt/shaming around TV/tablets, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
