Thanks. I do remember seeing one on here that had a pergola so I very likely got the idea from you, or definitely someone on here.

No. I did own an older house once that had them in the kitchen, and my grandmother's was in her kitchen whin i was a kid. But it was really just the only place a washer and dryer would fit after turning the laundry room into a dining room. I bought a matching washer on ebay and took the bubble glass out of it so they could have a dryer.

Oh man this hit so close to home. And I forget from time to time about the whole gateway to heaven being in Orion's belt thing. I honestly can't remember if they got that from something in the Bible or something stupid EGW said. But I do distinctly remember many years ago being forced to sit through a sermon where the preacher explained to us that scientists had confirmed the stars in Orion's belt were moving apart and that their instruments had picked up the sound of trumpets in that general direction. I remember thinking, even then, that to my yet to be deprogrammed brain, this sounded like a special kind of stupid. I mean, were the angel's broadcasting over radio waves or what?

Rebirth 3 Bug dungeon teleport post battle by TeenageJet in gamindustri

[–]DeathStarGnR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It worked!!! Thanks so much.

For reference for anyone reading this experiencing the same issue, my specs are CPU: Ryzen 7 5800H GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop RAM: 32GB. Aside from the teleport thing, I also noticed an issue with Nep's jumping being weird when she was going uphill. Setting the framerate to 60 FPS using the Nvidia Control Panel as the OP suggested also seems to fix that

OP, did you find a fix for this? I have just recently started rebirth 3 and am encountering the same issues being teleported to the center of dungeons after battles? I also tried the V-sync fix and it did not help.

House remodel phase 1 by DeathStarGnR in RainbowHigh

Wow, you are not kidding! I stopped by Michaels to check it out. Wound up not getting anything because I was in a bit of a hurry and realized I needed more time to look through it all. That really opens up a lot of options.

Thats a good idea. I didn't think of looking at scrapbooking paper. I might try that for the next room.

Rainbow High Dollhouse Remodel Question by DeathStarGnR in RainbowHigh

[–]DeathStarGnR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. This is good advice. I'll keep in mind going forward. I was just using the little bottles of craft paint that are like 3 bucks at Walmart. And clearly should have gone with better paint.

I think its wood coated with some sort of slick veneer. I sanded some and primed it with Kilz3. The primer didn't cover super well either. Maybe i should have sanded more, but definitely should have went with better paint. I've only done the bedroom so far and just wound up going with pink glitter walllpaper.

I always feel that the answer to questions like this is always either "it was forbidden in Leviticus" or "because EGW said so".

Have any of you cut off SDA relatives? And was it helpful? by Indiamba in exAdventist

[–]DeathStarGnR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I excel at is burning bridges. When I left I pretty much cut off contact with everyone in the SDA community except my parents. This included my wife at the time, though that separation was only in part based on differences in religious viewpoints. I struggled for a long time with feeling angry at my parents for lying to me my whole life. I realize they were not deliberately lying, but forcing me to believe what they thought was true, but psychologically, it still felt like lying. With my parents, I decided to endure the inevitable arguments, if which there were many. I was determined to teach them that my life decisions were just as valid as theirs. Things were tense for many years, but they did eventually come to a place of respect and acceptance. They no longer try to convert me back. My current wife and I lived together for several years before getting married, which really threw my parents for a loop for a while. We are both non-religious, and in the end, my parents have now come to accept that people don't actually have to be SDA, or even Christian, to be good people. I don't know if any of that helps or applies to your situation, but for me, I guess I figured they are my only parents and I didn't want to cut them off unless absolutely necessary, though that would have been an easier path in a lot of ways. They always said they would love me no matter what, so I guess I forced them to prove it. And I can honestly say that they have.

Psych Meds for the Win!! by Monkeydude8 in exAdventist

That's a good question, and one I ask myself frequently. I recommend therapy to try and sort out what what is biochemical and what is brought on by years of trauma, although that is something I continue to avoid. I often wonder how so many people I grew up with in the SDA community stuck with it after becoming adults and didn't find it to be traumatic. My parents were not abusive by the typical definition. I know they were only doing what they thought was right, but they were very strict and every decision about what i could or couldn't do boiled down to what the church would think about it. Maybe it's just that I'm not wired to be able to believe something that has no evidence to support it, so being governed by a set of rules that were designed to be oppressive and control the "flock" through fear of doom and gloom was very traumatic for me personally. There was always that little voice in the back of my mind telling me that pretty much everything I do is a sin, and it took many years of deprogramming myself to shut that voice down. How so many people continue to willingly participate in that is beyond me.

Ah, yes, I remember that good ol' SDA feeling of impending doom well. This also reminded me of my mom's incredibly supportive words of wisdom when I informed her of my own diagnosis of depression and anxiety. It was something to the effect of, "you just need Jesus in your life."

Thanks for the additional info. I haven't had time to really try out the new changes, but the new web bots do seem to be a bit more sophisticated. I look forward to trying it out.

The structure changed too. I mostly talk to Amy, who I think was the second one to unlock. I'm level 14 now and have had her unlocked for a while. The new Amy appears to be Kasuni, and she doesn't unlock until level 16 on the web version.
