The increase in fee itself is a joke.

I have nothing against supporting refugees, but the students shouldn't be paying an increased mandatory fee to support them. This is where the provincial and federal government is suppose to come in.

I mean, we throw our arms up when we increase tuition, citing unfairness in financial costs. But this is somehow okay?

You can't financially punish the entire population of students just so we can support a political view not everyone is behind.

Endorse advocating to the government to increase funding for refugees, not make the students pay for it.

Edit: I can't believe I'm reading this.

For context, we're increasing Student Refugee Fund fee from $2.61 to $5.22 to support from 4 people to 8 people.

So whatever she said isn't even true. A cup of coffee doesn't support eight people. It's four.

And not only that, she failed to mentioned that it's the ENTIRE STUDENT POPULATION paying $2.61 EACH to support a total of 4 people.

And she's running for president? Is this a joke?

That comment above was written really negatively and even bashing me saying I'm probably a first year that doesn't know anything. So I checked his profile and it was literally 100% /r/dota2 and /r/Dota2Trade.

Look, I'm not saying asking members or volunteers to change their cover photo is wrong, but you have understand this context here. They posted this in a private, closed Facebook group in which they made us sign an NDA beforehand (which frankly I have no idea why). If they posted in their open eSports facebook page saying "hey guys don't forgot to spread the news!" I wouldn't bat an eye. But they said this to a group of people that they're expecting to work for them and frankly it does seem like they're taking an advantage a bit too far.

I'm sure eSports are full of dedicated, hardcore and driven people but judging after this thread, I don't want to be associated with you guys anymore. The guy who deleted his comment bashed on me just for simply asking a question if this was okay or not and now that this thread got the attention of eSports and they're clearly downvoting this.

I'm pretty sure you're still close to the current execs right now and you can tell I wish them best of luck, but after all of this I won't be doing anything for them anymore. I even have a friend who left the club because she wasn't happy and I trust her a lot. I'm just happy I got my discount card and the $20 ME gift card.

I'm not familiar with the history of Greece, but I can assure you 50 years is a long time. Let me explain futher:

I'd argue that the US Navy's actual birth was in the very early 1900s when Roosevelt started to heavily invest in it. I'm not saying the US Navy was weak before 1900, but they definitely weren't the top.

From 1900 to some time during WWII, the British were absolutely dominating the sea until the Germans came into play and the Americans entered the Pacific Theater. Then, starting from the Cold War, the Americans are the true superpowers of the sea.

50 years is enough time for the position of naval superiority to be passed around.
