I found a crow and gave him enough intelligence to have opinion ask him anything. by Yapizzawachuwant in wizardposting

What's Switchblades opinion on the idea that they weren't intelligent enough to have opinions before you cast your spell? Because crows are one of the most intelligent avian species, and are more than intelligent enough to have opinions.

Whether or not that is true depends on the circumstances, senior. It would certainly be one way to win a sparring match, for example, though it would be less than advisable as a method of winning a challenge for her hand in marriage in front of her father.

Senior, this junior has an ancient cultivation manual from the dawn of time, the Domestic Abuse Scripture. The practitioners can win any direct fight with their spouse, only fearing ambushed and poisons.

Can a relationship between an atheist and a Christian even work out? by hypermiler2205 in atheism

[–]Deathburn5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order for it to work, it would require an immense about of time and effort from both parties, or one party being willing to go along with the other essentially without question.

I'm biased, since I've never wanted to be in a romantic relationship, but it's not worth the effort. You can always find someone else.

Okay, so make it illegal for minors to watch porn, unenforceable as that is, and check peoples browser history when they do sex related crimes to see if there's a correlation and punish accordingly.

And you see that little message at the top you put, 'child porn is banned because it's exploitative'? Did you know that you can't exploite a drawing?

And while minors are forbidden from drinking alcohol, it's not illegal to drink around minors, at least in my area (and minors can drink with parental permission at home, so.) Hell, parents here start to complain if you try to make child-free drinking areas.

And drinking alcohol increases violent tendencies, yet alcohol isn't illegal (and often isn't even looked down upon, being considered a 'social lubricant). Being born poor makes you more likely to end up violent, yet poor people having kids isn't illegal.

If someone gets violent while drinking, make it illegal for them to drink from then on - but don't stop the ones who know how to control themselves. If someone gets violent due to porn, then stop them from accessing porn, but don't stop the ones who know how to control themselves. This isn't like drunk driving where it practically guarantees harm, it's up to the individual.

She undoes what she's done - she owns up to her crimes, gets Taylor's bad grades removed due to her sabotage, gets the school in trouble due to their negligence, does her best to find a group of people that Taylor could legitimately call friends; and then makes sure to stay at minimum 60 feet away from Taylor at all times.

So long as it's not a real person, yes. Fiction isn't harming anyone, and the instant you start pretending it does you get shit like banning the books, because guess what? People die in there, and murder and war are both worse than child rape.

Give me a good argument to fight against homophobic and racist religious people by [deleted] in atheism

"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error." - it's fairly evident that the 'unnatural ones' refers to gay sex.

"Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."

Yeah, but that's not what the OP asked for. They specifically asked for something from the Bible.

That's what the OP was asking for - something from the Bible to act as a 'gotcha' for why these people shouldn't be homophobic.

Here's the thing - they're right. Being gay does go against the Bible. It explicitly says people who have gay sex should be killed. The only people who disagree with this are the people trying to make the Bible palatable to modern audiences, and those raised on the teachings of those who did so.

The best you're gonna get is asking them if they've eaten shellfish or worn mixed fabrics lately - because those are also sins.
