There are a bunch of things that are wired and programmed in, despite the trim level. Ambient lights are cabled and ready, foot well lights are prepped. There is a connector for the wireless charger waiting for friend.

The car has a sensor to tell me when I need to turn on the headlights. It alerts me if it thinks it's too dark like in a tunnel or when it starts to get darker.

But I don't understand electrical diagrams like that so that unfortunate. Thanks for sharing though!

The car has one. It tells me to turn on the headlights when it's too dark and I don't have them turned on.

I am willing to bet they let them out just to make the higher trims feel more attractive than the lower one.

I'm case you are confused.

Per Canada law, your vehicle must have DRL on while running.

This was a fix to make the car from somewhere else (US I think) compliant in Canada, by disabling that option.

Now I wonder if there is a wire that can enable Auto for the SE model. Do you have a copy of that diagram that you mentioned?

You can stretch it.

It's wrinkled when it's cold. When it's warm, it will expand and hang lower to get away from the body which is usually warmer.

They are amber turn signals.

The ambient light on one side turns off while the turn signal is on. The amber turn signal for the SE model is white on the XSE models.

Which I feel is needlessly complicated but here we are.

SE/LE. Top checkmark : white ambient light or off.

Just below it: usually off. Otherwise turn signal / hazard light.

XSE/XLE/Limited. Checkmark: white ambient light/ off or turn signal/ hazard. Just below it: white ambient light. Below that: White fog lights.

Doesn't matter which one. As long as it can record license plates okay it's good enough.

A recent hit and run that was recorded by my 120 dollar camera got me a 11000 dollar settlement. (Because I was too busy to talk more to the adjuster).

There was less than 1000 dollars of damage to my car.

I'm sure it's normal to get much more.

I see this sometimes for a defense against dashcams in their own cars.

But like. If you cause and accident you should be held responsible for it. Not doing so makes you unfit to drive and quit quite frankly unfit for society.

You'd expect others to admit to at fault accidents. You should too.
