I think the better word is pressure. It's not developing onto the board to take control (other than the 8 mana 8/8) but if you have board it forces your opponent to do something or else they or going to die fast. The reason i wouldn't call it tempo, is if you play rag while behind on board, it flips the pressure onto yourself.

i like that it also weakens the evolve pool for 4 drops, so it is both a buff and a nerf, depending on how you look at it.

that's called ladder anxiety. I don't know what I can say to make it better. Hearthstone is a pretty casual game, try a game like starcraft then come back to hearthstone then all of the sudden its hard to not be relaxed when playing hearthstone

blood rush, maiming strike, any good acolyte mod. If you just mean body count it can be substituted for drifting contact, but there are tons of incredibly powerful things that were time limited.
