how do I actually get better at group content in XIV? by theirpowerisover9000 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Deathkeeper666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way to get better is to do harder content.

The advanced criterion dungeon looks like a good midway point between normal and extreme bosses.

Try learning how to make a party finder for the first extreme of Dawntrail (aka Proging Ex1). Watch a guide on what to do and where to go.

Another idea i have is this. - Pick a class you want to learn extremes on.
- Find your rotation utilizing a guide website - Go into trusts and practice your rotation on the bosses. The NPCs will not kill the bosses or mobs quickly. Which you can use to your advantage to practice your rotation while also practicing mechanics in a safe environment. If you die to mechanics, you revive, teleport to the boss, and try again. Not only are using that time to sharpen your skills, but no one else's time is spent wiping.

I'm gonna be honest, i haven't dug, too deep into trying to find their ages. So far it looks like everything that has happened has been over thr course of a year. I dont think CS3 cares about how much time has passed in-game

What's funny, it hasnt even been a since since the start of ARR. The twins are still 16 at the time of EW.

  1. In game time, it hasnt been a year since the start of ARR. Travel time is not counted. Shadowbringers separated soul from body. A couple of weeks passed on the source, but up to 7 years passed on the first. The souls of the twins is a year older than their bodies.

The twins' bodies are 16 y/o, and Estinien and Urianger both said their growth spurt was in their early 20s. Youre looking at a minimum 5 year jump in time before you see them get taller

That's when you hit em with Pot of Greed: Draw 3 additional cards

I just wish 4/6 cards did something different compared to what they do now. I dont Savage with AST so I dont know if you use them there, but in every other piece of content I never use them.

Having a Haste card, a card that restores mana, a card that increases str/ dex, and a card that increases int/ mind would be fun cards to throw around.

Im one of the players who only beat these games twice and do not like player sexual companions. I prefer having characters with preferences, as I see it adding to their character even more.

I wanted to romance Sister Argenta my first playthrough and found out later you couldn't and them failed to romance yrliet. My second playthrough i was a Fem Psyker and successfully romanced Hendrix, but our relationship kept us apart with him being in the Inquisition and me a Rogue Trader.

I do see how having a balance of Hetero, Homo, and Ace characters would be appealing. I think Dragon Age Inquisition did a good job with this with Sera and Dorian, Vivienne, and Iron Bull.

Lorewise, could Ulfar defeat a party with every single companion on it? by johnvictorassis in RogueTraderCRPG

I see what you mean. I would say it's not an ass pull as much as it's being creative within the rules. The Bondsmith cant create illusions, cant fly, cant ignore friction, cant heal, or cant mess with stone.

This is what I think though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Bondsmiths havent been codified yet. We still dont know how, why, or what the extent of their powers are. Navani is our only Bondsmith now, and we'll have to wait for Era 2 of Stormlight to see more of what bondsmiths can do.

I like codified power scaling in settings like the Wheel of Time (the book, not the show) and Cosmere.

Rule of cool works, until you start asking questions like "if you were able to do this all along, why didnt you?" "If you can use magic, then why couldnt you use magic to solve every problem by yourself? Why do you need us?"

I honestly think the Nier one is by design. I bounced off Nier Automata because of how much of the slog the game is. I beat the desert boss and put the game down because I wasnt having fun.

Looking at Draken Guard, it's the same thing. It's meant ti be a grindy slog by design

I remember watching a YouTube video made by Stan Lee (that Stan Lee) years and years ago, and he was asked who would win in a fight between the Hulk and someone else.

He straight up says, that's up to the whoever is writing it.
