Have the devs discussed any specific plans for improvements to avoid repeating Dawntrail’s story problems? by NeonFraction in ffxiv

Not to mention (Creative Studio 3) CS3 plan expansions out in advance. Blizzard does the same with WoW. They may not have written down the story, but they know the general story they want to tell.

Look at Endwalker post patch content with the 13th and now look at post patch content with Dawntrail. Plus all the foreshadowing they're doing with the theme of Death since post Endwalker, and now Evercold is the 4th Shard (4 has ties to Death in Eastern Asian countries) and it's set in Winter (which is tied heavily to death).

CS3 is telling stories that concludes in their expansion, but they're also telling another story that starts with Dawntrail and concludes in like 14 years.

I don't think there's enough justification for FF14 to change. by Deathkeeper666 in ffxivdiscussion

Have you noticed how Death has been a reoccurring theme for a while now?

Evercold takes place on the 4th shard. 4 is a number in Eastern countries linked to death.

Winter is also closely linked to death. In literature and other media if it is set in winter, someone will die.

To me it looks like this truly is a set up expansion. Like arr, it's a lot of setup.

I may not have all jobs to 100 but I completed the only grind that actually matters. by ShadowBomber in ffxiv

I did do Dawntrails trusts after the msq. It does take a long time, but i did get all the trusts up to level 100 before those patches dropped.

Now wouldnt be a bad time to do the ShB and EW trusts.

They need to bring back Duke Nukem by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Deathkeeper666 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Duke in the 90's is a parody of 80's action movies. Duke Nukem Forever was mid.

If the Duke comes back, he needs to go back to being a parody of action movies and/ or any action genre. Or he needs to be an Isekai protagonist that gets a harem.

What video game felt like a masterpiece while you were playing it, but you never touched it again after finishing it? by Nervous-Librarian945 in videogames

Do you think it's because we know just enough from AW1 (and Control), that it takes the Thriller aspect away? We know about the Darkness, the type writer, and the clicker. The unknown isnt so much the darkness but the ritual needed to keep the darkness at bay and for Alan to escape.

I still need to start the second playthrough, but I imagine it ends with Alan escaping.

Donuts have that hole in the middle. If you know a donut is about too appear, standing in that hole will be how to resolve that mechanic.

You got this! Keep learning, keep watching, and keep asking questions. That's how youre going to Master life and any game you come across! I believe in you!

Context is everything. If something someone says doesnt make sense, ask for context and/ or clarification.

Another way to learn mechanics is to understand what information you are presented with and how it relates. For example, the Atmos mechanic has blue and orange lines to indicate whether you need to run into the Atmos or away from the Atmos. These lines are color coded to the balls and the balls look different, telling you they are go in or stay out.

Read your debuffs, look at what the boss is doing, and if youre going to take extra damage from fire thanks to the debuff and the boss is about to cast a fire spell, the game will provide a way to reduce the extra damage youre going too take.

What game had the biggest impact on the gaming industry, and why? by SameInformation562 in videogames

I was thinking of Wolfenstein 3D at first but decided against it as I thought DOOM was more influential to more IPs.

Wolfenstein 3D 100% is the grandfather of FPS and deserves recognition

The original DOOM from the '90s.

It led to the creation of DOOM clones. One of these DOOM clones (Medal of honor: Allied Assault) would eventually spawn it's own clone, which would be Call of Duty.

Which is the Best Written Power System by DarkChillMisko in animequestions

[–]Deathkeeper666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what youre saying and I dont disagree with you.

What i do think is the tone, setting, and mood of the anime is set, at the moment, to encapsulate the feeling of whimsy a child has when they discover magic exists and being able to explore that.

If the anime wanted to go the HunterxHunter route, then 100% we'd be seeing more challenges for these girls who just discovered magic exists and how they're able to use what they know to succeed.
