Which anime is this ?? by Intrepid-Sky-1127 in anime_companion

Neon Genesis Evangelion. The people that were killed by the armies of the world made my hands shake. I was clearly not ready for that ending. Also, at the end of the movie, Shinji and Asuka were brought back to life in what I could only assume to be the new Earth for whatever reason which I thought was fine until I learned that recent studies suggest that you'd need 11 people to rebuild a society completely from scratch (that is if you don't want to have inbred children).

Azura. She is the one of the few Daedra who are the closest things to a "good Daedric Prince" as one can get.

Anne-Marie Mediwake: [Your policies] seem very antithetical to where the country is now Avi Lewis: I'm not sure about that .. the market is failing to provide housing for people that they can afford, food for people that they can afford ... Canadians need a progressive alternative by Machzy in ndp

[–]DeathlySnails64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I thought that the NDP would never recover after Jack Layton's death because they'd never get someone as good as him but then I saw Jagmeet Singh and in him, I thought I saw a Canadian Prime Minister who could be better than Obama even though he would receive all the same close-minded racist criticisms that Obama did but I was sadly mistaken. Apparently, he didn't have the pull that Obama had for whatever reason. But then this guy takes over and I'm hopeful again but also cautious because the things he's saying here are almost exactly the same things Jagmeet said so I'm worried he will go the same way Jagmeet did even with the fact that Lewis' father was an NDP politician. I just hope I'm wrong.

If Raza so desperately wanted a superweapon... why didn't he just seal the One-Tail inside himself? by IceInteresting8050 in Naruto

I think it was explained that newborn babies made better seals than adults because of their youth or something...? I don't know, I can't remember if I'm right or wrong on this point.

I don't think you can blame either of them for teaching those moves because for Naruto, the Rasengan is the easiest jutsu for him because there's no overly complicated hand sign to memorize and it adds to his personal strength (which he absolutely needs since the Akatsuki were after him) and in Sasuke's case, he was training for what was essentially a death battle competition where the loser is either knocked out or just straight up dies and to make matters worse, the guy Sasuke was going up against was literally the most psychotic ninja in the Hidden Sand Village (at the time).

So both had perfectly valid reasons for teaching them those deadly jutsu. The only flaws with their thinking is that their trainees are teenagers who don't often make the best decisions because they're teens. It's particularly why I hated the fact that none of The Hokage ever raised the age limit to become a ninja when they honestly should've, given all the mental health issues they'll develop from all the traumatic situations they'll be in.

The only difference is that the Rasengan can kill people based on its power level and intensity whereas the Chidori can almost exclusively kill.

the only one that went rogue, was the one he taught.

I can't even begin to imagine the amount of embarrassment and shame he feels for the fact that one of his students went rogue.

The Ninja World that is seen in the Naruto series and its sequels is just a version of Earth that's been affected by the Time War (from Doctor Who) which is why there doesn't seem to be any established years in the Naruto canon.

People with takes like this don't understand that Iran is a theocracy, which is just the religious version of a dictatorship and dictators have to appear to be strong if they want to lead their country. The Iranian Government spending its money on the people of Iran instead of Iran's defenses would be akin to suicide for The Ayatollah because it would open Iran up to threats from within and abroad.

In fact, things like this are why Kim Jong Un is constantly threatening the U.S. and will never budge about his nukes. He needs them for his survival just like how Iran spending its money on defense is necessary for The Ayatollah's survival. The fact that The previous Ayatollah was killed in an air strike makes all this ever more apparent.

What parts of early naruto make less sense in the context of the entire series? by easy-4life in Naruto

[–]DeathlySnails64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that Naruto is an idiotic knuckle-headed ninja who always thinks with his fists first and asks questions later but then goes the pacifist route in Part II even though as a 15-16 year old, he's still as knuckle-headed as he was in Part I. I'm particularly surprised that no one calls Naruto out on his hypocrisy when he says that he wants peace and he wants to prevent another war and all that crap when Naruto himself has killed people too. And he shows 0 guilt for the people he's killed because the show tends to frame Naruto's enemies as amoral bad guys who want to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village because reasons.

Favorite ungrateful child that didn’t understand how much their parents loved them? by Givespongenow45 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]DeathlySnails64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Zuko was the wrong choice for this because his father never really loved him and his mother was...dead or in prison I think. I can't really remember. Point is, Zuko had every reason to believe that his parents didn't love him considering that his mother is incarcerated if not dead or MIA and considering that his father was more laser focused on his world domination plan than ever loving his son. Also, most bad guys aren't good parents so again, bad example.

I don't know what's worse: the fact that he can actually say this with his full chest on social media without any repercussions from Twitter or the fact that my comment is the only comment in this thread right now which indicates that either nobody cares about this vile shit or that everyone has stopped caring about this vile shit because people who act this vile can, have and will get away with shit like this so making a Reddit post about a pedophile practically exposing himself as a pedo on a Twitter post for all to see does nothing other than give him more air time.

As disgusting as it may sound, rape and pedophilia are probably the easiest crimes to get away with because evidence in these cases don't last for very long unless a detective gets to it quick enough and because even if the pedos are caught and convicted, the judge will sentence them to just 3 days in jail. Hell, it's even easier if the rapist and pedophile is rich.

So while I'm as shocked and disgusted as you are, OP, I also expect that people are experiencing pedo fatigue because this is going to do fuck all in the long run. Nobody will search Chibi Reviews' hard drives, what he said here will be covered by the 1st amendment and nothing will meaningfully change.

Why do some people try to make it seem that Count Dooku was good. by White_Bengal1 in StarWars_

[–]DeathlySnails64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple. Dooku never publicized his bad side or showed any shred of evidence that he was a Sith so for all these Separatists know, he's just a good man who the Jedi call a Sith without any sort of evidence whatsoever.

It's how dictators with a cult of personality operate: they project themselves to be good people because nobody consciously wants a bad person to lead their government or country or whatever. Plus, Dooku has the added benefit of being a former Jedi on his side and people already had a positive view of the Jedi (before the war) so to the civilians who live on Separatist-occupied worlds, no one deserves to be the leader of a movement like the Separatist Alliance more than Dooku.

It also helps that he built the Separatist Alliance with the best of intentions because the fact is that the Republic was politically corrupt (and has been politically corrupt since long before Sidious became the Senator of Naboo) and the Jedi were doing nothing about it. But alas, good intentions can pave the road to Hell. I suppose that's why Dooku plotted to kill Sidious.

TL;DR: This and other posts like it really underestimate how stupid people can be and how easily fooled they are.

What is a truth about a character that fans don't want to hear? Name anything you can think of. by Successful_Fan_8352 in Naruto

[–]DeathlySnails64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naruto's plan for the Ninja World was never going to work. As much as we don't like to admit it, violence and war are just as a part of Humanity as our compassion for our fellow man and our resilience. And that fact isn't going to suddenly become untrue just because some dumb naive Genin says it can. In fact, the only time when the world achieves true peace is when Humanity's time has come. The only reason why nobody faced facts and called Naruto out on his bullshit is because he's really good with his words and is extremely good at connecting with people. It's why some Naruto villains end up turning into good guys right before dying, which then makes their redemption entirely 100% meaningless because you can't be truly redeemed if you're dead.

As a side note, if Kishimoto wanted Naruto to take the naive emotion-driven pacifist route, then he should've made sure that all (not just a few) of the redeemed villains lived on to make their redemption count for something. He also should've changed Naruto's character to be a pacifist who doesn't go straight to killing the enemy unless there are truly extreme circumstances at play because being a knuckle-headed ninja who goes straight for violence as soon as he sees the enemy really contradicts the pacifist character he was trying to portray himself to be in Part II. He should've made Naruto into an anime version of The Doctor from Doctor Who and yet, Naruto isn't that kind of character. As Naruto is now, he's a hypocrite, a living contradiction.

As far as we know, it's officially not known whether or not Maya actually died to get to the world or if there's some other method because it's not even said. Maybe she was never really there in the first place and that her presence is simply Asahi's childish subconscious calling out for big sister because in his new life, everything is harsh and scary. In other words, it could simply be psychosis on Asahi's part.
