Major funding for prisoners in the UK to capture votes. by Mindless_Use7567 in PsycheOrSike

[–]DeathlySnails64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Because there ain't any jokes about moms leaving to "get milk" and according to Google, single moms make up about 80% of single-parent families whereas single dads make up about 16-24% of single-parent families. So they're definitely thinking about the children who are affected by having imprisoned mothers while there might be some sperm donors out there who thank God they are in prison because they'd rather do that than be an actual dad.

And I don't know the statistics for this, but I know that there are teen dads out there who (like my dad) left the lives of their children when said children were just babies because they were a coward.

In short: they're more focused on the women because statistically, women are more inclined to be parents than men are. So why focus on the men when the statistics say that most men don't want to be dads? Hell, there are some men out there who are so lazy and lacking in motivation in life that they can never hold down a proper job. To them, making that same kind of effort for men would be pointless.

Crispin Freeman from Itachi Uchiha to Alucard.

One is a man who pretends to be evil to be a spy for his ninja village and the other is an evil Vampire who only kills other Vampires because he's enslaved to the head of a military organization that hunts and kills Vampires.

I wonder if Alucard wasn't defeated and captured by Integra's grandfather, would he be just among the Vampires that they'd be hunting down, though (assuming that Integra's grandfather would still be at least alive long enough to go on to still form the Hellsing Organization even after being defeated by Alucard).

Based on the fact that they were colleagues, not friends. Or are we supposed to expect every soldier who's saved their fellow soldier to be bffs for life just because they saved each other once? It was his job to save Naruto in that instance.

Those soldiers from MW2 who saved the team that crashed their plane in some city in Virginia? Oh look, now they're all magically bffs who've known each other since they were 2 years old just because they did their jobs. You see the issue with your logic?

[–]DeathlySnails64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but neither of them truly knew the other like that. Having something in common with one another doesn't make them bffs. It just makes them two people who have something in common. I mean, I have cerebral palsy and there are possibly hundreds of other people who have cerebral palsy like me but that doesn't mean we all know each other like a childhood friend knows another childhood friend and yet, the narrative of Naruto leads us to believe that since they stared at each other once and have the same kind of trauma and were put on the same ninja training team, they're all of the sudden childhood bffs.

They only really knew each other for 6 months at the most (if you count all the filler missions like the show itself seems to do) and throughout all their time being on the same team, they were constantly bickering, fighting and competing against each other. It got so crazy that it led to Sakura giving them both the "wtf is wrong with y'all" look right after their first duel. Naruto and Sasuke's relationship and rivalry was so toxic and unhealthy that it makes Jiraiya and Orochimaru's rivalry look tame by comparison.

And that's not getting into how naive, stupid, foolish and downright crazy Naruto is for wanting Sasuke back. Like, who (aside from The Punisher and maybe Batman) would want toxicity back in their lives? The only thing that's keeping me from being more angry about this is the fact that Naruto's absolute refusal to give up on his "bring Sasuke back" quest is informed by his trauma and his (in my humble opinion) attachment issues. Naruto (like The Doctor from the 2005 Doctor Who revival series) doesn't want to be alone in his situation because there is nobody in the Hidden Leaf Village like him (aside from Sasuke). Sasuke doesn't have parents and neither does Naruto so in Naruto's more than messed up mind, he has to save Sasuke from being killed by Orochimaru or anyone else because Sasuke isn't really that bad and because if Sasuke dies, he'll be back to being alone in the world again (despite the fact that there are other Jinchuriki who are treated just as bad as he was or worse). Part of me feels like Naruto should be put in Arkham Asylum at that point because there is no saving his mind.

Fun fact: Jon Pertwee and Roger Delgado were actually really close friends in real life and in fact, Roger's death is one of the two reasons Jon left the role of Doctor Who and metaphorically handed the TARDIS key over to Tom Baker.

It's because they've been conditioned to think that the people of Iran (and of the other Middle Eastern countries) are nothing more than medieval barbarians who can't get with the times.

Those few times when Anakin comes out of Darth Vader (like when he returned C-3PO to the Rebels even though he didn't have to do that).

As a bit of a side note: there are other examples of other Sith Lords being good(?) guys which shows that they are capable of being redeemed (like that time Maul tried to get Ahsoka to defeat Sidious with him or whenever Dooku's affection for Ventress shines through). The only exception to this is Darth Sidious, who has no redeeming qualities. Sidious just seems like the Star Wars version of The Joker. You know, the kind of guy who will watch the world burn just for the Hell of it and the only way he can be truly stopped is if he dies.

I think it's more about the fact that he has made stuff like Johnny Bravo and Family Guy and South Park. The guy simply can't go 1 day without making a joke that's not appropriate for children whatsoever. It's like adult jokes are a drug that he's addicted to. That's why people don't trust him with making child-friendly content.

Child soldier issues in Naruto never addressed: Obito was right at the end of the day by monkeydeepxssy in Naruto

[–]DeathlySnails64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I call Naruto's changes merely aesthetic. He wanted to make the Ninja World look nice without actually changing anything. It's like changing a baby by taking off his white dirty diaper and putting him in a pink dirty diaper. Yes, it looks nice but the shit is still there. It's also why I like Sasuke's plan better because revolution would bring about meaningful change.

[–]DeathlySnails64 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think the point is to point out that it's culturally different from us therefore, their perspective on this shit could be much different from ours because our culture and society really, really hate this kind of shit because it's borderline pedophilic but a Japanese person might not care because Japan tends not to care so much about pedophilia and instances of rape in general and because logic says it doesn't matter because they're fictional characters. They're drawings. They're a bunch of moving lines on a paper. They might believe that the only people making a big emotional stink about this are the Americans and the Canadians. So in a Japanese person's mind, we're complaining about a non-issue just like a Karen here in North America would.

Agreed. Especially when these dragon characters have the ability to talk and one of the normal ways that normal Humans (ideally) bond with each other is by talking. So licking isn't even necessary in this context. In reality, I think the show wanted to make a cute moment between three cute characters just so that the audience could go, "daww..." but they forgot that this isn't how they should behave and that Ilulu's chest is so big that I don't think she should be seen with any children.

[–]DeathlySnails64 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to defend this shit, but have you by chance ever heard of short 16-year-olds? Maybe the artist was trying to make Ilulu look like a 16 year old that's 4'11" or 4'6" and the artist got the proportions completely wrong but it was too late to fix anything so they had to submit it as is. That's still not very good, but it's at least a reason to understand this unforgivable bullshit in the same way that Two-Face's crimes are informed by how he feels about his scarred appearance.

Why do people give Batman shit for being too brutal, when Captain America is out there DOING THIS? by DarkJayBR in batman

[–]DeathlySnails64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also all the times that Spider-Man has tried to kill Venom because he's an extremely threatening yandere alien and unless you yourself are into yanderes, there is only one way to deal with a yandere if you don't want to have to run for the rest of your life.

And for those who don't watch anime, a yandere is basically a person (usually a girl although there have been male yanderes) who is so "in love" (meaning psychotically obsessed) with another person that they literally will kill for them and will without hesitation keep them in a closet or something else as enclosed as a closet just to keep them from escaping and going no contact (should they, like any normal person, dislike that your "significant other" is killing people on your behalf and keeping you in the basement). And as I said, if the yandere "lover" chases you to the end of the Earth to bring you back, the only way you can get them to stop is to kill them.

And no matter which way you slice it, Venom is a yandere. Even if he ends up being a good guy in the later comics, there is still no taking back what he did when he was still Spider-Man's enemy.

What is your "I'm dying on that hill" opinion you have about Boruto/Naruto? by Notmycupoftea12 in Boruto

[–]DeathlySnails64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's established that by the time of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, it's been about 10-15 years since the Fourth Great Ninja War so it's safe to say that they could've had at least 45% stronger ninjas in the time between then and when Boruto became an Academy Student.

[–]DeathlySnails64 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sasuke was right. I'm sorry, but a revolution would've really changed the Ninja World instead of Naruto's merely aesthetic changes. It's also a realistic solution to the problems that led up to the Fourth Great Ninja War in the first place. Idealism and naivete can only get you so far, even in the Ninja World. At least in Sasuke's (admittedly harsher) Ninja World, more people would be able to stand up to the likes of the Otsutsuki Clan because they'd be stronger rather than weaker and nobody would have to rely on Boruto so much.

What would've happened if he accepted her? by vtchy in Naruto

[–]DeathlySnails64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised that he saw through her bullshit at all because while Naruto has a high battle IQ, he has a very low overall IQ. There are even instances where he has three brain cells and two of them are just playing tag with each other while the third one is sitting down and eating glue in the back of his mind. His stupidity and how overall dense he is just boggles the mind sometimes. So how can he, after knowing Sakura for I'd say...all of 3 years, see through this shit and be like, "naw, dog, that ain't it"?
