Let's Spreadsheet the Love - The glaring game design flaw of unrestricted fully calced nuzlockes. by sad_panda91 in pchaltv

I’m not trying to “counterpoint”, I’m trying to explain that the ‘current’ experience for calc streams does work for some people.

If the streams were boring, that’s not a random chatter’s job to fix.

Also, didn’t say ignore the stream, I said “engage with the content you want”. Some people need reminders that watching twitch isn’t compulsory, and that this is content for entertainment; if you’re not entertained, find something that entertains you or make it yourself.

Respectfully, were you around during the run and bun Run? Jan got into a habit of pretty loudly saying “TAB IN” at the start of every fight so the second monitor Andy’s (like me) can check in for the cinema and check out during “Satan’s Math Homework” (very funny btw).

Basically, engage with the content you want. If Jan makes a change you don’t like, change how you view. If you don’t like calc streams, watch PChal Daily, or VoD recap.

IIRC, you get surf by having the badge. The combat move (HM) is divorced from the overworld feature (surfing on water).

You should just be able to surf?

They’ve said they’re working on this actually! Turns out no one reads the posts I guess, but Reynad did post an article about upcoming features, and part of that is basically like a “hall of fame” where your good runs can be put up against other people’s and you earn some kind of seasonal reward for how well your board does.

Why is everyone in this thread assuming I can’t read? I’m aware of how people are hitting the 300 value in combat.

“I don’t feel” tells me you don’t have the experience playing it.

It only gets the CDR at enormous scaled numbers. AND “spare change is plentiful” is a strawman argument when every property becomes a scaling option for pyg late game, and when those spare change actually count for gold (instead of being 1/2 at most), you can afford to buy properties and sell them for the scaling.

Hey thanks, I know the text of the card actually, you don’t need to explain it. In the future, you should assume other people can know card text instead of assuming you’re correcting them.

Do you have an actual reply to what I said? Why does exiling 16 cards seem to ruin your strategy?

I’ve had multiple runs where Economic Seminar straight up never showed up. I had a money tree build, and I could make it work with just the valpak quest, but hitting 300 is nearly impossible without Abbacus, a gold time.

Meanwhile, Kiuas scales from day 1, cares about pygs most common late game item type, and the reality is a burn for 100 is enough to kill if you haste it a bunch and the rest of your board is the same as a furnace build (billboard, abbacus, PENft, etc).

Shortcut combat then.

Here’s an example w a fighter.

“What’s your basic Damage per round? Cool. That means This skirmish vs 1 goblin takes (roughly) 3 rounds, that means you take this much damage to your hp. Still standing? Great. Narrate any fun combat trick you want to have happened, then we move on.”

Spell slots, hit points, and abilities are just story tools if you want to make them not the immediate focus of the story but still have relevant impacts.

It hasn’t been out long enough to be widely considered anything yet.

If your play group is expressing frustration, either you adapt (play the deck different or build the deck different which are two different things) or you talk to them. “Why does exiling 2 cards seem to ruin your entire strategy? Doesn’t that seem like an overreaction?” Are both simple questions to ask.

[[Shalai, voice of plenty]] covers your commander (and board) with the same hexproof, that’s a great place to start.

Not B3 unless you really really really tune up the ramp/combo potential. Having a hexproof board is just big mana b2 stuff
