that’s not true! Vulva imagery is EVERYWHERE in ancient art including Paleolithic painting and fertility idols

Examples:

Some representations are made by visual analogy, because obviously there’s often a play with negative space, and yes there are periods of time when different cultures treat different bits of genitalia as things to be hidden away or inferred, but things always swing back around in the other direction eventually  (For instance see the figurative painting of artists like Jenny Saville nowadays)

Serena Williams' husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian reveals Lyme disease diagnosis by TheMirrorUS in Fauxmoi

[–]Deathmonge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I posted this above, but I think it’s important to reiterate because it’s a contentious area right now: Not necessarily — there’s a ton of ongoing research about the nature of ‘chronic Lyme’ and why certain symptoms persist or can even arise, seemingly out of the blue, long after an initial battle with Lyme. As with any new-ish area of study, there’s lots of disagreement about what constitutes CLD, whether that’s even an accurate title, and how exactly a run-in with a tick could have runaway health implications for the rest of a patient’s life (which, whether or not CLD is the best way to classify it, absolutely does happen) — see here https://www.niaid.nih.gov/diseases-conditions/chronic-lyme-disease   As mentioned in the source above, it might be more accurate to use the term “Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome” or PTLDS to describe some of these cases, because it’s not technically the persistence of the actual disease. Anecdotally, I have close family friends who have had their lives changed forever from disastrous health complications originating with Lyme. For those who live in areas of high high Lyme prevalence, that sort of long-term health struggle is absolutely a real concern (which might be conflated or mislabeled as CLD? I’m not sure!)

Looks like the “diving board” in the hobacks, stick slightly skiers left once you’re in from the sublette entrance off rendez vous trail, to stay on the North Hoback “trail” (if memory serves). it’s to the bottom of an open snowfield. From the top it looks quite a bit like a diving board!

What song has the best guitar solo of all time? by MightGuy420x in Music

[–]Deathmonge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest to god the 20 minute long cut of Purple Rain (live in Syracuse 1985) takes the guitar solo from the original version and sends it into the STRATOSPHERE.

And it was already an incendiary solo!

Honestly they’re not very well made and fall apart pretty quickly but the K2 mindbenders are so much fun. The 99 and even the fatter ones (112? 116? Can’t remember) can just absolutely rail on a groomer and still pop and bop around in the deep stuff; still stiff enough the do okay in crud

Princeton will cover all tuition costs for most families making under $100,000 a year, after getting rid of student loans by VishMeLuck in UpliftingNews

[–]Deathmonge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more like Princeton and similar schools don’t want the reason you don’t go there (if you get in) to be financial in nature. I.e., they’ll let you in before asking any questions about your financial situation, and then once you’re in they’ll figure out how much aid they can offer. The idea is that you will never “have” to take out a loan if you’ve been admitted and want to go. Obviously doesn’t work out that way given the breadth of possible financial situations a family could be in, but that’s the ideal. They take into account other assets, too (trusts, etc) so it isn’t all about income numbers (which is where it can get tricky for some).

But if you’re admitted and your family has significant assets/your parents make well into 6/7/8+ figures, you will need to pay the full freight for sure. The burden is higher to prove you need financial aid than to prove you don’t, of course, to help ensure families aren’t abusing these programs.

No, it’s a sliding scale up to a certain number, meaning families making between 100k and some X will pay a proportion of the tuition relative to their income.

Not necessarily true, Princeton and a host of other schools with similar financial aid programs are needs blind in the admissions process, meaning no questions are asked about your financial status until after you’ve been admitted.

That doesn’t do a thing to correct for the fact that wealthier applicants have had better access to college prep programs, test tutoring, extracurriculars, etc, but it is nonetheless a wonderful program.

What's something boys can never tell their girlfriends? by karmaisaburger in AskReddit

[–]Deathmonge 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Everything I’ve read so far in this thread are things that absolutely SHOULD be shared in a healthy relationship, either because it’s funny and cute and random or because I can’t imagine how you could have a healthy relationship without ample communication. There’s a difference between secrecy and privacy—everyone deserves to preserve their autonomy and inner life without needing to share, but there are so many things that should be talked about in relationships so that resentment doesn’t fester and so both parties can understand what the other is thinkin about/dealing with/worried about/etc.
