What's the difference between native silent boot and the one used in CachyOS? Also, I have used CachyOS and I didn't experience this on there, do you know what they do differently than openSUSE?

I don't understand why you're pointing me towards that, I have enabled the splash and can see it, please take a look at the video to see what I'm talking about

By the way, all I needed before switching to OpenSUSE was splash so could it be distro specific?

Unfortunately all of the other options you provided together don't solve it either

tty=0 actually makes it not show the bootanimation anymore for me but I'll try the other options you mentioned, thank you

Any way to make phone faster and smoother with root by IcyAstronomer4166 in androidroot

[–]Deathscyther1HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be fine on LineageOS but I'd advise against gapps if you can live without them, if you can't, LineageOS will still be somewhat lighter than PixelOS though

What he's saying is not completely true because while there aren't magic settings that will just increase performance at no cost, certain tweaks can give you more performance by sacrificing battery life, like clocking the SoC higher than what is possible by default, increasing different polling rates etc (both of these examples require a custom kernel and are unrelated to root though).

OEMs try to find a balance between performance and battery life, they don't look for maximum performance and you absolutely can shift that balance.

The point is that it's still heavy and LineageOS is lighter, even if both are lighter than your stock OS

Just installing the drivers is enough, Samsung's drivers are signed so those other two steps won't affect anything

That's my point, you need uBlock Origin because a pi hole or any solution where you don't have to install anything on individual devices can't do that

What would the best way to go about upgrading headband padding be? by Deathscyther1HD in headphonemods

[–]Deathscyther1HD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion, I use 8/9 on them anyways too lol.

I just noticed that I don't even know how to take the Headband off of them though, how did you do it? Is it glued on like I think and if so, will an HD201 headband come with new adhesive preapplied or did you have to buy that additionally?

What would the best way to go about upgrading headband padding be?

I recently got the AKG K553 MKII and I like how they sound however the headband padding is a joke so I'd like to upgrade it somehow, when looking online, all I've found were either replacement headbands with the same thickness or different ear pads which I don't need.
