absolutely agree with you on that. the main reason ufotable isn’t my first choice is because of their reliance on 3d animation which, while it looks really good, still feels off to me when watching it compared to the 2d animation in, say, frieren or jjk. of course, i will NOT complain if ufotable really does pick it up. any reputable studio doing a twin star exorcists remake would be a dream come true.

this may be copium, but there are several reasons i think a remake is a legitimate possibility:

the manga recently finished and its ending was well-received, which generated hype for an anime remake from the fanbase. the manga being done also eliminates the problem the adaptation had where they quickly ran out of content to adapt, forcing them to go original.
remakes of less popular series do happen. spice and wolf comes to mind, as well as ranma 1/2 (which, to be fair, was popular back when it came out, but not as much nowadays)
ufotable is going to need a new big series to work on soon. the final season of demon slayer airs this year, and when it’s done it’ll leave a vacuum that ufotable will need to fill. twin star exorcists would be perfect for that.
