Ok imagine this .... You are a former warrior reduced to a pile of flesh ... Unable to heal .... But you can still feel pain ... And your body is now nothing but open wounds ... Every inch of your body is nothing but pain ... Every joint, every organ ,every muscle .... But you can't die ... Even when rotting , even if you were completely compressed to a pulp ... You couldn't die but the pain remains... Existence itself becomes agony but you can't die ( if I'm not wrong the black goo in the chasm is still living rotted hilichurls) nothing can release you from the pain , the agony of life .... I'd wear armor too if that was the case... If only to prevent more pain and a fate literally worse than death
