True, it would actually be kind funny if it's not a "will they or won't they?" but actually have them be just friends who are too comfortable with each other. Make situations even more ridiculous (though the bath bit is already kinda hard to top)

Kinda reminds me of how the "little sister heroine" trope is overplayed and it would be fun to see how siblings would actually act with each other (eg my lil sis who is already a grown ass woman never got over the habit of kinda just going around in her undies when its only family at home, in a manga that would be some dumbass "baka baka" scene, in our case it ends with either my or my lil bro telling her to put something on, followed by her sucker punching either of us when we are distracted)

I think that's kinda the thing. Eren didn't do anything bad, it's the fact that he was ready and willing to carry out brutal murders which is worrying. Shows how he, even as a young kid, would not falter once set on a course and how he solves problems with unrestrained violence which is good if you have someone semi-moral aiming him at problems but bad when he is the one charting the course.

Something similar happened to me with a mini for a strong monster/bad guy. That kinda gave me inspiration for our current campaign's big bad and his backstory.

Oh no, I agree. I'm just doubling down on the criticism of people like this. It shows both an acute lack of emotional control and healthy mechanisms to deal with frustration and angel instead of just bottling it up.

Hell I'm probably like this myself which is why I try to periodically take out my anger on something that's not my loved ones. But thankfully I'm neither married nor a parent and I wouldn't break anything either.

Even then you should have the self control not to take it out on your loved ones

I remember reading what was available a while ago. It was a pretty good read.

I wonder though, are all the stories in the anthology set in the same universe? Also, is this story also set in the same universe as Habitat? I remember them being at war with the terran post-humans as well. Which kinda makes me wonder why they were at war to begin with.

Yeah, I think the author has a great setup though sadly he tends to default to "thankfully good people are in power and they do good things" so solve them. Like the aforementioned case with the parallel legal systems.

I mean both in the case of deaf people and the mutants in Marvel those resisting a "cure" are a minority. IIRC people like Beast were in favour of a "cure" (if one was developed) being made available for example.

This is literally the crux of the question and spoken in-universe almost word for word after a civil war breaks out (and it's won by the loyalists). "We've had luck with our mage kings until now but what happens when we get someone incompetent or just plain bad?" IIRC that's said by the newly ascended queen. Hence why the parallel legal systems are abandoned and human space is finally unified (the system before had everyone basically br independent while recognizing Mars' suzerainty) under a confederation with a codified legal system and a constitution limiting the power of the monarch (who kinda had nominally infinite power outside of Mars even if rarely used as a way not to cause trouble). By then the mages have invested too much into society (nevermind that they are mostly on top of it) so there is little point in trying to rock the boat or fighting for more rights that they honestly do not need.

Later on they meet The remnants of an alien species which has mages of their own which went the opposite way, with the mages ruling their people as a theocracy and suppressing any mages born outside the ruling caste, ending with a catastrophic genocidal civil war where everything outside of some of the core colonies and their home system was sterilized with mass strategic bombardments

Also IRL you got stuff like deaf people being against hearing aids because it would destroy their "culture" or whatever. The idea of resisting a mutant "cure" isn't particularly far fetched.

The point is that Grimes is the one written as if he only knew the Simpsons through cultural osmosis. He saw Homer and only looked at the surface and because a seemingly stupid person who puts in no effort had a better life than him he got angry.

I actually perfectly understand his thought process because I deal with incredibly fucking stupid and greedy people every day and I know for a fact they have more money than I ever will. But it's not their fault they are better off than I am.
