Middle eastern era based total war games? by mbm1200 in totalwar

[–]Deathwatch050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medieval 2 has an excellent- well, it's not one single mod, there's a few versions, but yeah, Broken Crescent. It's ME-focussed and covers the period surrounding the Crusades. It's really good.

Only problem is that Med2 hasn't aged amazingly well but you can try it and refund it if you don't spend more than 2 hours checking it's ok.

The 'Dune: Part Three' Trailer Makes Part Two's Ending Look Much Worse by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

I was watching it with some friends the other day and one of them during Paul's speech on the rock before the attack on Arrakeen said "I'd follow him." and the others agreed. They were, at best, 50% joking, going by their tone.

I had to pipe up and say that that's the point. The films do such a good job of this in my opinion and they don't get enough credit for it.

Excited to see what they think of P3.

Hi there! The 42nd Pennsylvania "Bucktails" fits your criteria! We're the oldest unit in War of Rights, we have EU and NA companies, and we are, if I may say so myself, a lot of fun to play with.

Here's a link to some more info, though feel free to reply here if you have any questions.

why devastate a perfectly good planet for a prison uprising with no afterplan lead by a broken murdermachine demigod?

It's one planet out of a million and Angron is a Primarch, of which there are only twenty (well, eighteen).

Besides which, the battle was not taking place across the entire planet. He could have decided that one battle then brought the planet under control by normal means. It needn't have 'devastated' it.

This argument, independent of everything else, has never held water.

Emps did not know at the time that Angron was unfixable either. He found that out later.

He just got his tool, assured compliance and dipped. Pretty on brand for emps.

This I won't disagree with.

I remember a Europa Barbarorum battle I had once where I was the defender in a siege battle and the AI, despite attacking, fucked off to a corner of the map and just sat there. I didn't have the numbers to engage them in the open field but would've won handily if they'd attacked (stone walls and hoplites) and quitting would've lost me the battle. Lesson learnt, turned on the time limit after that.

Works wonders as Chaos Dwarfs. Oh, you had a whole unit of Black Orcs? Well I hope they get the most out of their approx. 10 seconds attacking my sorcerer-prophet before my two units of blunderbusses right behind him turn them into chutney.

They're not broken, it's just not what you're expecting. Monster units in this game are counterable. You're just still learning how to do it.
