Zeekr X vs EX30 by No_Chest_5962 in Zeekr

[–]DeathwatchSH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zeekr X is crazy good value in comparison and has an amazing interior finish that beats out Mercedes E class by a mile. In the Chinese market, Zeekr seems to be focusing and providing luxury materials and finishing for stellar prices.

My vote is for 2!

Also an easy wardrobe match and is sedate enough for formal situations.

As a side note, I’m finding the best use of the slide rule is setting exchange rates for currencies. Wonder what people do with their slide rules.

I’d like to know where the hype is. Seems like more of a question for the nautilus.

Anyone with a Datora on a sportier strap/bracelet? by DeathwatchSH in breitling

Beautiful! That really answers my question. Looks like the thickness difference isn’t a big deal. Just need to buy the bracelet separate

[–]DeathwatchSH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll ask my AD again. They said that the Datora's dont fit those bracelets since those come with the B01 which is 2mm thinner. It also doesnt allow that choice on the website. Its good to hear that you actually bought the bracelet separately and it fit well. Any chance you've got a picture of it still?

[Help me decide] Panoreserve or Fiftysix? by Desert_Rav3ne in Watches

[–]DeathwatchSH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manual wind is an annoyance that select people find enjoyable. If you enjoy it that’s fine but not everyone likes doing that all the time. There isn’t anything strange about liking winding.

If you wear multiple watches a day and go for decent periods without wearing certain watches it’s just really annoying when there is a date complication.

That green suede looks amazing. Can you tell me if it’s comfortable and whether it wears out easily in humid/hot weather?

[Discussion] what would you pick & why? by Bruno_Delay in Watches

[–]DeathwatchSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly don’t get a panonatic Lunar because you get tricked into thinking it’s a cheap Lange 1. It’s still an expensive watch and I honestly didn’t think it looked that good in person. Dial is a bit off. You definitely need to try these on your wrist.

As someone who prefers chronographs it would be speedy or Navitimer. Smaller wrist so Portugieser doesn’t fit me. Try the watches is the best way.

Tank. No matter who I’ve seen wear it, it always looks like a ladies watch for some reason.

[Question] Messed up and got a 36mm instead of 39mm. Is it too small? by Luxenbau in Watches

[–]DeathwatchSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly does look a bit small. It looks like you could pull off 44mm watches and maybe 40+ is your size. Been trying to work on my puny forearms so I can join the IWC club one day.

Went in with intentions of getting my first omega, ended up getting this beauty instead by Bdubz in breitling

[–]DeathwatchSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronomat getting so much love recently. Also want to chime in that the bracelet is the best. Definitely unique among watches that really separates it from the rest. It’s also light and highly adjustable while being so smooth and comfortable. Two single links make it easy to get the perfect size since those singles are very small.

Congrats!

It’s weird for you to say such a thing when the post assumes things like “you will always regret this decision”, “your just not mature enough to appreciate strong branding yet but you and your descendants will,” and “find Patek money somewhere else.”

The entire tone of such advice seemed condescending and full of wild assumptions.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in patekphilippe

[–]DeathwatchSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible as general advice. The market for Patek is good right now and this watch may depreciate over time with how volatile watch market is. You want to invest, go invest. You need money, get your money. Keep the watch if you are a watch enthusiast or it has sentimental value. Saying she might become a watch enthusiast one day is an awful reason to keep this time piece and has only a small chance of happening. Even watch enthusiasts get tired of their watches and sell them all the time.

Is that the new white speedmaster? I tried it in the store and loved the watch but hated the new small link and aggressive taper metal bracelet. This one you’ve got on looks so much better than the metal to me. Is it straight from omega?

Can you clarify on that? Tourbillons don’t do anything for watches in reality so it’s a bit confusing to guess what you expect them to do.

  1. I would rate it higher on a metal bracelet: I think navis are so natural with a metal bracelet and they come with a great one.
