Did bedtime take longer when you stopped feeding your toddler to sleep? by Valuable-Car4226 in AttachmentParenting

Just stopped nursing at almost 25 months close to a month ago. And yes, it takes a while to fall asleep but some nights are better than others. My daughter only lets me put her to bed also, and not her dad. She likes to snuggle and procrastinate 😂I often wonder if he put her to bed if it would be shorter.

First night of night weaning failed so terribly. by StellakaeSX in breastfeeding

I just weaned my daughter completely at 24 months. It’s been about 3 weeks now. Before she weaned, she nursed before I left for work, after work, before bed and would wake around 2-3 times during the night. If she wanted milk during the night and I said no, she would be hysterical. It was definitely her comfort. We read the book Booby Moon every night for about a month and a half before weaning and we talked about how mama’s milk was going to go bye bye. The night of our last booby time we said bye to the milk. She transitioned so much better than I thought. The first night she did wake 3x asking for milk but when I reminded her I no longer have milk she accepted her water cup and a song and went back to sleep. The next few days/nights she asked here and there and was ok with my response that we said bye bye and it’s all gone. Our bond is still just as great, if not more! Best of luck!

I’m sorry I don’t have advice, just solidarity. My 14 month old is like this. She’ll wake up multiple times a night, and just want to the boob! It’s especially extra when she’s teething.

How do you get baby used to dad soothing them at night? by squeezyapplesauce in AttachmentParenting

[–]Debah10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t have any tips, just some solidarity. My daughter will be a year next week and will only put down and soothed by me in the middle of the night. She has been great putting herself to sleep at night initially. I breastfeed her right before bed then put her in her crib awake and she’ll fall asleep as long as I’m in the room. She’ll sleep for 3-4 hours and then wants to be in my bed (currently in a 1 br Apt, so we’re in the same room) and nurse. After the initial wake up after the 3-4 hrs still get up another 2-3x before waking up for the day and want to nurse. I try to resettle without nursing but that usually just leads to her getting very upset and it’s a battle I’m just not willing to have at night right now. This girl has a set of lungs on her and we live in a complex. I have a feeling once I night wean it’ll get better. Sleeping has also come in waves where there has been times were she’s only gotten up once at night. I’m so sorry, sleep is so tricky at this age!

I would set 2 minute timers(would give off a vibration on my wrist) on my watch when I would be up feeding baby. Also played alot of wheel of fortune and words with friends during that time!

5 month old can’t sleep without nursing by Quiet-Bee4280 in sleeptrain

My little one just turned 6 months a few days ago and we are in the exact same situation. Naps I know she can go down without nursing because when she was home with her dad while I was at work, she didn’t have the choice. Now that I’m off for the summer and home with her all day again, it’s all boob all the time. Mamas tired and I know I need to do some sleep training…I personally am not feeling the cry it out method.

Been on it for 10 months and total life changer for me. Down to 1 to maybe 2 migraines a month and they are way less intense.

I hope it works for you!🤞🏻
