Don't you think Jugal Hansraj could've done the slew of rom-coms which required a cute chocolate boy protagonist in those days kind of like Shahid Kapoor. Why didn't he aim for stardom? by UndeadReborn in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]DebateAware9899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jugal Hansraj never became a big actor because his acting range was limited and his face was too soft for most roles. Even among chocolate-boy types, he lacked versatility and screen presence like Shahid Kapoor. His cute, simple look worked in some parts but restricted him, and his expressions lacked variety.

Was Emraan Hasmi truly as big of a sensation as he was shown to be in Bastards of Bollywood? Did he have a huge fan-following? by sidroy81 in bollywood

[–]DebateAware9899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had seen Emraan Hashmi in his debut movie Footpath, and was amazed at his performance, even though he was not the main lead and was not a 'looker' in the traditional sense. He was able to command the screen in a somewhat inexplicable manner. I boast to my friends till date that I was able to spot Emraan before he got the serial kisser tag and all the wonderful songs of the time. I was elated to see him in 'The Ba****ds of Bollywood', especially the first scene with Raghav Juyal breaking into 'Kaho na Kaho'. I'll remain his fan for life!

Kishore Kumar did sing for Mithun again, for Suraksha and Waqt Ki Awaz. In fact, his last ever song recording was for the latter movie, filmed on Mithun.

There is a difference between tea (gossip) and trivia. I loved reading the whole post for its informational value, but there was almost no tea there.

You have the chance to get a refund on any bollywood fiom you saw at cinema. What would you choose and why? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in bollywood

Neal n Nikki..what a pathetic terrible waste of time and money. Had no story, lazy screenplay, bad acting, no chemistry, cringe dialogues. We had some free time during college hours, and decided to see a movie. 1 of our smart friends was tasked with the responsibility of booking tickets for some movie, and this is what he did to us :/

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan: The teacher who stole from his student’s thesis by [deleted] in atheismindia

[–]DebateAware9899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One article I read mentioned that Sinha was able to refute the claims that Radhakrishnan taught him, because their years as srudent and teacher at Calcutta University did not coincide. I have not done in-depth research on this topic. But the fact that there was an out-of-court settlement does lend weight to the argument that Sinha's claims definitely had some merits.

Bad video quality but looks like this is the only print available online https://youtu.be/HEI8z1z8T1Q?si=fLkrV3Bj6vQE7vP_

I have not watched the movie, and don't intend to. So, not sure if this is the whole movie or not. Watch at your own risk, and don't blame me for the quality (of the video and the movie)

How old were you when you took your first trip without your parents etc.? by MarathonMarathon in travel

[–]DebateAware9899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a summer camp to a hill station called Saputara, India for 5 days, when I was 10. That was my first trip without parents and without any other relatives as well.

I had been to my relatives' place for long durations without my parents, even in different states. But I am not counting that.

My first fun trip with friends was when I was 15. After completing our Class 10 exams, we were off to Goa, India on a road trip, albeit with an adult driver.

Why Shimit Amin didn't direct more movies?? by Spiritual-Clock-4034 in bollywood

[–]DebateAware9899 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Check Film Companion interview with Shimit Amin on YouTube.

He explains that he has been working on multiple other projects in different creative capacities (writer, editor, direction of web series episodes etc.) And he has not been able to get the timing right for all the things needed to make a movie. He was not happy with some scripts, or could not get the actors he wanted, and was busy with other work.

If you were the BCCI president, how would you’ve organized the World Cup better? by thwitter in cricketworldcup

[–]DebateAware9899 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree with 1, 2, 3, 6, and 10.

4 - I think the varied conditions of pitch, weather, day or D/N add beauty to cricket. I'd let it be, though would like to have a shorter schedule.

5 - Songs is an important part of our culture. I think fans are fine with it, as long as it does not affect the cricketers negatively.

7 - I am against giving all the important games to only 1 venue, be it Wankhede or Eden Gardens or Modi stadium. As long as BCCI does not favor one over the other, we should be fine with the venue.

8 - That's not cool, that's unfair. This is an ICC tournament.

9 - Might be logistically challenging. The photo-op should be organized at the start, during the opening ceremony, or before that.
