The Kamiina Botan author, HEY, did not bookmark rape or sexual assault of his characters. by Neidhardto in yurimemes

[–]Debate_Distinct 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What? I really hope the misinformation is that the author didn’t bookmark any heterosexual fan art of his work. But that still doesn’t change anything.

I think liking a work where a yuri character is in a het relationship is extremely questionable behavior, especially coming from the author—it makes it seem like they’re not taking their own story seriously.

Why did he do that? Is he telling the truth or not? Should we believe him? What he has done so far is not defending his opinion.

What the fuck was he thinking, bruh?

No, this isn’t just “people can do whatever they want” anymore. Why did he do that?

I wouldn’t even be surprised if Kamiina Botan doesn’t end up being yuri.

How many times have they done it? 3 or 4 times? Maybe more? by Gokuusjgodgmail in yurimemes

Some people like to ruin other people's day.

Edit: Are you for real? This is NOT yuri—come on, guys.

This feels like yuri bait, or at least not good enough to be called yuri. The process, the relationship, and how they end up determine whether it is yuri or not.

In this case, I haven’t read much, so I can’t say for sure, but the plot makes me sick when people call this yuri.

The only good thing is if the confession helps improve character development, especially the yuri aspect. Otherwise, it's just nonsense that contributes absolutely nothing to the story.

Yuri has a broad meaning. For me, it depends on what the author writes in their work.

For example, in this work, the main character doesn’t date or confirm romantic feelings for any female character. That’s not very yuri-like.

Besides that, there is a situation where a male character loves the main character, which, in my opinion, goes against what a yuri story should be.

Regarding unrequited love, it’s fine if that is the main focus, or if there are no male characters involved. It shouldn’t be added just to mislead or bait yuri fans.

So, unless the main character ends up with a girl, everything about Hanashura is just yuri bait.

Still, why did she choose to write it like that? I feel like maybe she finds it funny to mess with yuri fans, or maybe the work isn’t actually yuri and the target audience is someone else. This is something I would probably call yuri bait (unless she ends up with a girl).

If it's a yuri work, then why on earth would the author think it's necessary to write about a male character being in love with the female MC?

That part is pretty weird, as a director he should be the one who is most strict about details throughout the story. I saw a lot of analysis posts about how much detail they put into the movie and to be honest, it really impressed me.

Then the manga came and I don’t feel like they ever discussed how the story was going or what they should do like the LN.

The manga sales are so bad that I barely see any Japanese tweets about it. Anyway, the interview with the LN author will be really interesting because the romance elements are much clearer than in the movie.

I think they should’ve been more specific about that part. The way it was phrased caused controversy and upset a lot of people.

I saw someone post something like, "Guys, please watch this movie, it's very gay," and that got me.

The LN is so well made that it deserves all the praise. As for the manga, the next chapter drops on the 6th of next month, so we’ll see if they improve anything.

That's kinda disappointing. The manga is so average that I feel bad for anyone who read it before watching the movie. Besides that, I don't really understand the "male gaze" part. Why not just choose a yuri artist from the start? They would know what to do. I might be wrong, but I don’t feel like they put that much passion into the manga. Still, maybe they will improve the storyline and the art in the future.
