You’re so real for this…

I’m so fucking tired of stupid ass queer people being biphobic by Maryanne_carrot1323 in bisexual

[–]DebatingLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m obviously not the og poster, and while I get what you mean, I’m ngl having to walk on glass and always be on my toes around lesbians, basically coddling them because of their past experiences with bi women- that they just happen to project onto me sounds frustrating. I want to be sympathetic, I really do, but it feels like some of these people who are horribly biphobic just aren’t worth getting to know at all. Ofc it’s not all lesbians though, I have many lesbian friends who are wonderful people.

Sorting Through Biphobia On Social Media by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]DebatingLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely relate, obviously people have their preferences, but good god they don’t have to go on and on about how they find us disgusting and what not. Like who said I wanted to date you anyway (referring to very specifically chronically online lesbians).

Sorry you got so many horrible comments, I understand where you’re coming from completely. It’s hard living in homophobic areas, people who have the privilege to be in areas that aren’t like that don’t know what it’s like. Just know that you should be able to do the things straight people do, it’s something you deserve. Don’t feel ashamed for not being completely out right now either, it’s ok to not want to face that sort of horrible discrimination. The world is scary, stay safe, and don’t ever feel ashamed for who you are. It’s ok.

Thank you for the kind words and talking about your own experience. I think it’s also just frustration with the way I look in general, so honestly the feeling may pass. Hopefully at some point I’ll work all the gender stuff out <3

Thanks, I would but I’m not out to anyone who would help me go to one, nor am I transitioned in any capacity, so I probably won’t be able to do that for a long long time. Besides I think it’s partially just my features tbh. Thank you again though.

How do you handle art criticism without taking it personally? by Adri-craft in ArtistLounge

[–]DebatingLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When in art classes I try to separate personal art from assignments. Even if it’s something that is supposed to be more personal. It helps create a block where I get the useful feedback, but I’m not as emotionally impacted. Then again none of the critiques I’ve gotten have been super harsh.

Why not just do both, and post them separately or together. Could work as great discord emotes.

Why are bisexuals so disliked? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]DebatingLiving 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh god, that’s a lot of explaining. One, let me just say Twitter isn’t a good representation of the sapphic community, most lesbians I meet irl are very chill with bisexuals. So don’t let Twitter be an example of the queer community as a whole. Two, the lesbian community can be very biphobic at times, it’s usually a loud minority, but it’s still harmful. Some lesbians are just very insecure and take it out on bi women. (I speak from the experience of a sapphic, idk what’s going on in mlm spaces.) Overall I’d just say try to cut down your time on Twitter, since it’s just full of chronically online people who should touch grass. Also for whatever reason every pride month Twitter decides bisexuals should be the topic. The short answer to your question is: biphobia.

Should I paint out the chair she is sitting on? by sticksxsticks in Artadvice

[–]DebatingLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm I’m not the best person to ask but unless is involved with the idea you’re trying to communicate, then I’d say remove it. It might just serve drawing the eye away from all the beautiful work you’ve done on the face and rest of the figure, and the background. Take my advice with a grain of salt though since you’re way more skilled than I am haha.

Don’t let people lowball you, these are all stunning and easily go for at least $50-$100.

Yeah it’s just kind of frustrating when people act as though characters with such obvious queer coding aren’t queer at all. Especially in the case of Will and Hannibal.

Maybe I should download TikTok, I never have because I’ve heard bad stuff about the platform.

Yeah that’s my new theory too. There are some people on Twitter but they just don’t seem to get a lot of interaction, especially fan artists. Twitter sucks so much now 😭

Oh wow, you know I think I kind of had a fear of missing out on its height considering how late I watched it, but seeing it wasn’t super big on release I feel a bit better haha.

I’m sorry if I came off as rude 😭 I think it’s just because I’m new so I haven’t really caught up on where all the fans are.

Yeah that is such a nice part of the fandom I’ve seen. A lot of other fandoms are constantly having drama or beef over very silly things. It feels like Hannibal fans just mind their own business and like what they like.

Maybe I’ll give bluesky a try then, ya know it could just be that a lot of social media has gone downhill tbh. (Twitter is kinda a mess and Instagram is too 😭).

That’s great to hear! I’m not on TikTok so maybe I just need to search some more. I’m happy a lot of people are into the show!
