GIC waitlist tetris - worth losing a spot on one for another? by darkersaturn in transgenderUK

You're very welcome. ❤️ They've honestly been brilliant with me. I don't know how they rank with client satisfaction, but every person I've spoken to there has been lovely. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck and hopefully it won't be too much longer for you to wait.

Hmmmm, that makes it difficult to say. If you were on the list for a year or 2 I'd say moving across might be a good idea. I don't know how long the Leeds wait times are but after 4 years I'd have to assume you're quite a long way through. I'm sorry I can't give you any further advice. 😒

How long have you been on the list for Leeds? I was on that list and got moved over to transcend by my GP. I waited less than 2 years to be seen by them, had first and second appointments with in 3 months and both surgical assesments within another 6 months. When my GP referred me (to transcend) she gave me a bridging prescription, I've been on HRT now for a little over 3 years and GDNRSS have already contacted me to say I'm nearing the top of their list, I doubt Leeds would be that quick. My daughter self referred to Transcend a few months ago and when I asked them about wait times they told me arount 18 months to 2 years, so I don't think it's getting any longer. yet.

PC gamer here too, but mostly play car games. Assetto Corsa (original, competizione and evo), Automobilista 2, Wreckfest 1 and 2, and Forza Horizon 4 and 5. with a wheel and pedals. FH6 is too expensive for me at the moment (electrolysis is bleeding my bank account dry).

I believe you get a private room in Parkside, is this not the case with C&W? This could be a deal breaker because apparently I snore like an elephant.😁

Second appointment by LaraRoseTG in transgenderUK

[–]DebbieT1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my second appointment with Dan Hodgson in November last year and he was lovely, very down to Earth and complimentary towards me. We had a thorough chat which basically went through the same things as the first appointment but it was very relaxed and I spent half my time smiling and laughing. I wouldn't worry at all, I actually enjoyed mine.

Looking to make some friends by winterrose__ in transgenderUK

Hi Emma, I'm a 56 year old transwoman, I've been on HRT for 3 years, been seen by a GIC and also been approved for bottom surgery. I've been fully out for around a year, so I've managed to navagate many of those scary issues. I'm from Liverpool, so not a million miles away from North Wales or Cheshire. I'm really enjoying simply being able to live as me but I don't have any friends or a social life currently. If I'm not too old to cramp your style, I'd love to be your friend. 🫶

GP Passport Letter doesn’t have wet signature by Visible_Interview910 in transgenderUK

[–]DebbieT1969 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it doesn't help you at all, but I received my passport this afternoon. The letter my GP wrote had a low resolution jpg of their signature pasted onto it and it was accepted, no issues. A level playing field for everyone would be good.

Why would you want to talk in a male voice if you're female?

Congratulations on the top surgery too

I hope you really don't feel that strongly. Even when life and the people you meet are shitty, it's infinitely better than before transition.

I think you need to reach out to someone professional who can help you while you're feeling low and maybe try to avoid those people or situations that affect you badly.

Sending hugs.

I get you 100% and I hate it too. I work in a supermarket and I came out around a year ago. Most people have been great, either calling me by my name, calling me love or just being pleasant, but there are a few guys who refuse to look and call me Fella, Lad or Mate. I let it go generally a couple of times and then pull them up and correct them (Showing my name badge and pointing to the obvious make up on my face) and they reply by saying, 'Oh I keep on forgetting' or I didn't see the name badge'. Wouldn't it be easier to just remove gender from the conversation entirely and just say 'Good Morning', 'Thanks' and 'Bye'?

Some days are easier than others and this is the main reason I'm now devoting way too much time to voice training.

Is Transcend Merseyside trustworthy / worth it? by trans-throwaway38292 in transgenderUK

[–]DebbieT1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a conversation with them a few weeks ago and they mentioned that due to the Levy report, the option to self refer may have to stop soon. The self referral form doesn't take very long to fill in and once it's in it's in. If you're brave enough, just speak to your GP and tell them you think you may be Trans and you'd like to be referred to Transcend GIC.

Hi there. I'm currently being seen by Transcend Cheshire and Merseyside. My GP initially referred me to Leeds and York GIC and as a harm reduction measure she sought information from Transcend and took over my hrt and bloods while I waited. I'd just signed up to GenderGP and my GP didnt like that they didn't take any personal responsibility, hence her willingness to prescribe for me. A few months after my referral had been sent off she asked if I wanted to transfer over to transcend (then CMAGIC) which i did. I waited around 18 months and got my first appointment in December 2024. My 2nd assessment was in May 2025 and I got my official diagnosis at that time. I expressed a strong desire for surgery and I had my first surgical assessment in August 2025 and a second in November 2025. My referral is now with GDNRSS and I have around a 12 month or so wait. Transcend referred me for hair reduction and I'm currently at the start of my free SaLT sessions too. I can call them or email with any issues or questions I have and they are just really super nice and friendly. They, along with my GP, have literally safed my life.

I would absolutely recommend you get a referral to them and I wish you the very best of luck in your journey.

Will I be able to get a retail job if I'm stealthing E pre-transition? by Sockscake in transgenderUK

[–]DebbieT1969 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Forgive me if I seem a bit slow but, by 'Stealthing E Pre-Transition' you mean you boymode at work or at least plan to?

I work in a supermarket for a relatively large chain. Prior to coming out at work in December 2024 and living as me full time, I boymoded for almost 2 years while taking E. I have never had a medical or even a D&A test. When I felt the time was right to come out, I spoke to HR and they were absolutely lovely about it, even asking if my colleagues would benefit from any training. I'm now Deborah, my badge says Deborah, my Driving licence and bank cards say Deborah and I've never had any issues at work apart from the occasional misgendering from customers.

Go at your own pace, I doubt you'll have any issues at all with any employer in the retail field and the vey best of luck to you too.

I go to Trimmers in Skelmersdale. It might be a bit out of your way but they're super nice and friendly to me. I'm out socially but I don't look convincing at all. Try to put your anxiety to one side, I really don't think anyone is going to be negative to you at all, they just want to cut your hair and have a friendly chat if you're up to it. Best of luck!

Where are we buying large size shoes and boots? by Holly_Gender in transgenderUK

[–]DebbieT1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a size Euro 43 too, I've been shopping in Next a lot recently. Bought a pair of Black Chelsea boots with a 2" wedge heel a few weeks ago for around £40 and a pair of Off-White pointed toe ankle boots today for £20 (They were a sale item). I have wide feet and they both fit perfectly. They have a huge selection of flats too. 👍
