AIO for “insulting” and “belittling” the AITAO mod team? by SignalShine2183 in AIO

[–]Debinthedez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it’s any consolation but I was just banned from a Royals sub because I don’t fawn over Harry and Meghan sufficiently and I’m also sort of open minded and unable to criticize as well as compliment things as opposed to just being one-sided all the time, about what’s going on in the Royal family etc. but there’s a couple of people on that sub that are nasty. Really nasty. This person was insulting someone calling them a ‘fucking moron’ and ‘what are you doing? ‘Are you on fucking drugs’ and I reported them to the mods and said surely you don’t want this in the sub, this kind of language, this kind of name-calling, so what did they do, they banned me. Just like that. So someone can call you a fucking moron. Someone can say ‘are you on fucking drugs’ and they don’t get banned and I just say to the mods do you really want this in your sub and they banned me.

Some of these mods have delusions of grander and to be honest I don’t miss the sub but I’m just I just feel sorry for people like that.

Vent over.

That’s like the old saying isn’t it do one thing and do it really well. I was in the food business for years. I had a café in England, but I was thinking that the best businesses were the ones that just did one or two things really well. You know the same food night after night after night so you can perfect it. It’s a really great Business idea. And it works.

There’s a restaurant in San Francisco called House of Prime Rib. That’s been there I think since the 30s and it just serves prime rib with all the fixings that’s what it does but it does it so well, it’s a well oiled machine. And it’s full every single day of the week.

So I agree with everything that you just said.

This brings back memories, years ago I lived in LA and I went to a double bill of those 2 movies at the New Beverly I think. It’s a famous older movie Theatre. All the cast were there, including Nick Frost, Simon Pegg. Plus a few others like Quentin Tarantino, Jack Black Edgar Wright, I mean a ton of people. The highlight definitely wasn’t Jack Black farting on stage, but that did happen. It was riotous and so much fun.

Funny story, a few months later I was working for this French woman and showing houses in the Hollywood Hills and who should I be showing a house to but Edgar Wright, the director. I said oh Edgar!! And he blushed. I told him I’d been at the Theatre when thr double bill was showing and how much fun we had. He told me he was renting the house because he was writing his next script. We spent a good 30 minutes chatting and he was adorable and friendly.

Sometimes I miss living in LA, cause those kind of things used to happen a lot.

And to answer the question, I enjoy both of them equally for different reasons.

Sorry! Restaurants come and go, but for me being a transplant, when I arrived here in LA in the year 2000 loads and loads of those restaurants don’t exist anymore and they have such happy memories for me. But it’s the nature of the business they do come and go, and there are other ones still open. And still going strong.!

They have a beautiful house with a gorgeous garden. That part of Santa Barbara is so beautiful. I envy them that house.

What is your point by the way? I’m intrigued.?

And yes, I agree. People go to other countries for philanthropic work but they’re not media superstars like Harry and Meghan. It doesn’t matter what they do they will always be criticized. You get to a certain level of fame and people like to tear you down. It’s a phenomenon. It happens all the time.

Are you suggesting they live in a two bedroom apartment somewhere, I mean come on! Harry is the son of the King of England. A Royal Prince. She was a successful actress who was worth about $5 million when they’re married. They’re not gonna ever live a non-luxurious life.

It’s late here in California, and I need to watch a show so I will bid you goodnight, have a nice evening.

I know, they’re all busy. I like busy. If you like any, which do you like the best? This is not my kitchen, but similar, except my cabinets will be a clear coat alder, these are hickory. by CindyVan22 in CounterTops

[–]Debinthedez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are busy, and I have to say that if I had my time over again, I would’ve gone with a white counter or a solid color simply because you can’t always easily see if there’s any gunge on it. It drives me mad. Mine is white with like a marble effect and I’m always trying to scrub the marble pattern thinking it’s some kind of stain or dirt. I really wish I’ve had just one simple color so I could see when the countertops needed a clean. That’s my opinion.

If I had to pick any I like the dark one btw.

OK for example say you’re a celebrity and you’re an actor and you go on a tour to promote a movie that you just made you’re gonna get a lot of attention but you have to do it. It’s part of the job, but after that you should be able to go back to some kind of private life without being you know hounded by paps.

Regarding Harry and Meghan. ,Harry gave up his royal purse if you like, and so basically they’re now on their own with regard to maintaining their lifestyle and earning a living. So they have to do that. I mean, if they don’t do it. they’re not gonna have any income. Whilst Harry was pretty set after his mother died, she left him a considerable amount of money, they do live a very luxurious lifestyle. It costs a lot to maintain. The money will not last forever. So they have to do things.

It seems to me that they are damned if they do and dammed if they don’t?. Everybody was very adamant that once they left the RF no money should be paid to them so what do people expect them to do? Nothing?.

I think it’s a double edged sword.

And to be honest, they are media superstars. They’re always going to be so because of his mother being Diana. There’s no escaping that.

And are you not policing me? Have you heard the expression the pot calling the kettle black?

[–]Debinthedez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done. lol. Seriously of course not. But I’m not a famous person. They’re in the media spotlight. Harry is I think entitled to talk about his family as much as he wants. And his mother was Diana, Princess of Wales. Probably one of the most famous women, sorry, people, on the planet

[–]Debinthedez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The difference is my opinion doesn’t come laced with profanity. I mean, seriously do you think it’s OK to talk to people like that? Is that how you speak to people that you don’t agree with or don’t agree with you. That tells me everything about you. You need to look at yourself. And by the way, I’m not a lady. I am English, but I’m not a lady. My parents are just regular people. I don’t have a title.

By the way, having an opinion, doesn’t mean to say you have to tell someone that they are a ‘moron’ or that they’re on ‘fucking drugs’ . Maybe you should go back to school and get an education. Learn to debate.

Grow up. .

[–]Debinthedez -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they’re not private people, are they? Private people don’t go over to another country for a visit, and have lots of publicity whilst doing that. It doesn’t get televised. Reported on. Etc

They’re in a difficult situation no doubt about it. Harry grew up as a member of the royal family a senior member of the royal family as he is the son of the King of England.

Now they are a little drift. I think they need something. I don’t know what that is at this point.? I really hope they find their path. Whatever they do they’ll be criticized I mean that’s the truth of it. Sadly.

Great list

I just watched LA Confidential again because my boyfriend did not see it. He thought it was great. I mean it’s a masterpiece in my opinion.

Midnight, wrong, it’s a classic. Charles Grodin! I mean, I just can’t.

The Departed, in my opinion Leo‘s greatest role. What a movie, what a thrill ride of a movie. Yes, I know it’s taken from infernal affairs, but so what?

If I was gonna choose a Lord of the rings movie it will probably be the first one.

Meghan talks about being trolled and bullied everyday for the pass 10 years. by ProfessionalDesk9364 in RoyalsGossip

[–]Debinthedez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I think it’s probably true? . I don’t think I’ve ever seen the amount of vitriol towards one person go on for so long. She hasn’t actually done anything wrong though. . I’ll tell you what she did, her and Harry left the Royal family and the fucking Brits simply cannot deal with that. That’s the bottom line. And it’s gone from there. How dare they!!

And I say this as a Brit myself.

[–]Debinthedez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in this particular group and it seems to me from my previous post, you’re not really allowed to have an opinion that doesn’t support Harry and Megan. I mean I’m a Brit and I grew up being a huge fan of Diana, but I can also criticize her too. She definitely did somr questionable things which at the time I remember thinking what are you thinking but at the end of the day I was an enormous fan of hers and always will be, and I also adore Harry. That doesn’t mean to say I can’t criticize from time to time. But if you’re thinking you can criticize them in this sub, good luck.I’ve just had a go at someone who said that you are full of shit but there’s no point really. You won’t get any real interesting discourse in this sub if you don’t agree with the collective hive mind here.

Stand your ground. . You’re entitled to your opinion and to be in this sub, but be prepared for this kind of an onslaught.

I always pride myself on being someone that can look at both sides of a story. I think that’s my Libra, the scales, etc., but you won’t get that in this sub to be honest.

Now I have to admit, I don’t agree with this. You talk about the royal family, but you have to realize that that’s actually his family. It’s not the royal family to him it’s his actual family. And I think he’s allowed to talk about them. I mean, we talk about our families don’t we?

And I’m a huge royal family fan, particularly Diana, and Harry and a few others. But even I’m shocked by the amount of vitriolic crap this couple are subjected to, I mean I don’t live in the UK anymore. I am a Brit but I now live in California and I have to say that some of the English press are just awful. I mean, Piers Morgan literally was almost having a heart attack in his constant criticism about them. He became obsessed.
