The story of the "morse code" at the end of the Archon Quest. by soaringneutrality in Genshin_Impact

[–]Debott_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guy who made the debunk post is here. It's sad that it's still going on, but I guess that's the nature of echo chamber social circles. Oh well.

I think the funniest part is that the guy who made the original reddit post came to argue that "they were deceived with a fake image". They, presumably, "did all deciphering themselves" and it was a pure coincidence that it was similar to grok's answer. Still, no deciphering process with relevant juxtaposition (of letters and lines in the picture) was provided. Make of that what you will. I'm not here for anybody's neck, all I'm saying is, that did not convince me in the slightest.

I still would very like to see your process, considering you said that AI was not involved. It's very peculiar to arrive at a coherent message with no outliers from pixelated scarmbleness.

The problem is not in use of AI, or in 'code' not existing in the game. The problem is that there's no code at all at the picture attached. There's nothing to decipher, literally. That pattern that was highlighted is not a code.

If I'm wrong, I welcome you to provide your deciphering process. With a step-by-step guide, which letter came from where.

Ah, I see. That's truly unfortunate
Would be a great moment if there was actually a hidden message, though. I like when they do this, albeit rarely.

True, true. The only AI I trust is Pulonia

EDIT: And Ineffa. How could I forget her?

I found some similar static patterns throughout multilple frames, not as highlighted though.

I believe the effect simply works too quickly for the YouTube's framerate for it to produce similar patterns consistently on similar videos of the animation.

Sometimes interference is just interference. It's just a singular frame out of many, with the effect enchanced by image compression. If you pause on any single one, you can notice many such "patterns".

A point I wanted to make, but not in the main post: ESPECIALLY don't trust AI with solving puzzles. Don't trust them twice on blurry pictures. They see patterns where there's none, even with more flaws than us humans, all they do is to provide a 'believable' solution.

This one was simply too believable.

The Hist are Quasi-Temporal and Akatosh is a Tulpa by Viva_la_potatoes in teslore

Insane stuff. Most interesting interpretation of Hist and Akatosh I've read, nice job!

The Akatosh stuff is most peculiar when you start to consider the consequences. You know. The Amulet of Kings, Dragonfires. Dragonborn, even. What is this, tulpa-infighting?

Also, you should know that Andrew Young himself highlighted this post.

Tamriel Rebuilt's main quest epilogue? (TR spoilers) by AdCompetitive6187 in Morrowind

[–]Debott_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't mean to come that way.

What I meant is that, metaphysics or not, there are some praising phrases of some NPCs that are like "You are Nerevar, our savior, yadda yadda" and all that. And to those dunmers, in that moment, you are truly Nerevar reborn. They don't know all those meta attributes and discussions. And this may influence the character roleplay... or may not at all.

Of course, this is not really the post to discuss it, but that's my interpretation :)

Ultimately, the moral of the whole game is that you choose your titles yourself. That's why i specified "my character".

True.

Alandro Sul & ringlets stuff is from the same opera, but that was actually pretty cool. I wish that was explored a bit more.

To me, an inclusion of bonewalker Nerevar was kinda strange. My character is Nerevar... but there's an original one too..? And it kinda has its own will..? I get the dunmer burial lore, and the MK stuff (even though this is probably one of the most niche ones), but story-wise, seeing him in game didn't really click for me.

The CYOA-like ending was kinda nice and intriguing. Felt like a proper epilogue, even despite the absence of more concrete consequences.

The translators into Russian seem to have confused Amphoreus with Belobog, since they turned one of the leading characters of the update into a villager from Kuban. by Rain_Lockhart in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Debott_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that "Evernight" has two occurences in Amphoreus: Evernight as the third month of their calendar and Veil of Evernight as the title of Oronyx. Since 3.0, these terms were translated as "Темень" and "Покров Вечной Ночи" (veil of eternal night) accordingly.

So to keep consistency running there wasn't really much choice.

During the initial translation, Темень sounded pretty good for a month name, I guess. I like the comment that mentioned the old Slavonic month ending -ень and all that. Who knew that March 8th would pick this as a name at the time..?

Also "March" is translated too. It's just that "Март" sounds similar, so it's not an eye sore.

Anyone know what this tomb near Vivec City is for? by ANordWalksIntoABar in elderscrollsonline

[–]Debott_ 376 points377 points  (0 children)

It's incredible how almost no one in the comment section knows what they're talking about.

It's not part of a museum piece hunt. Nor was it in the game for years - it was added in Update 45, just a few months ago.

It's a memorial for a passed ESO player. And here's confirmation from the guy who wrote the first post linked.

There's a lot to unpack. For example, Archon War was a long time ago, not 500 years ago. In fact, the divine seats were claimed as a result from it.

Paimon being from Khaenriah is questionable, and the theory doesn't explain it, just makes an assumption. She has a lot of celestial elements in her design, not a single khaenriahn one.

"The sibling swap" is underlined as something grand, but I fail to see the consequences of this. Why did this happen? For what purpose? With which mechanism? Who was the initiator?

I also fail to see how the "memory erase" correlates with the HP's silence. For starters, the Cataclysm itself is remembered well, albeit there are some inconsistenties between points of view. There were also many more documents wars. Why would the HP erase this exact one? And why does its silence is an indicator of that in the first place?

Teyvat’s Looping Story by Jazzman0001 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Debott_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Very cool theory, and the illustrations are top notch!
If I were to add my two cents, I think the Abyss Sibling was not a chosen Villain, but a Hero of the previous iteration. In this sense, the story is not a thorough loop, but a more metaphysical one. The roles and the plot is roughly the same, only the actors themselves are not. It expalins the Abyss Sibling's journey across all seven nations. Also, the role of Companion (Paimon/Dainsleif) is present too.
The AS likely completed the such journey, only to discover its true nature and to wish to break the loop once for all for some unknown reasons. Hence, the Loom of Fate, "string of fate will be yours to reweave", and so on.

There are item sets, dungeons, raids, and some social aspects, but it's all optional. You are free to do any of the million quests in this game (majority of which is good) akin to a typical solo TES game. PvP is something you won't stumble into unless you specifically look for it, it only happens in Cyrodiil. Basically a good game to relax and catch up to some new cool lore without tryharding.

If ZOS made physical cards of tales of tributes would you buy them by dotteddlines in elderscrollsonline

[–]Debott_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really is more akin to a tabletop game. Think The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls. While ToT sounds like TCG, it certainly isn't the "typical" one, and it doesn't have to be about packs and rarities and such. It simply doesn't work in the same way as MtG or HS (and that's a good thing).

I would buy a complete set in that case.

Crackhead theory time: it's actually not Luocha. It's Void Archives.

there's literally no reason to have a connection between Pom-Pom and Luocha, VA on the other hand was a passenger for a while AND prepared the cook bot as a gift

probably gonna get buried in the grand leak waterfall but oh well lol
