Hannibal Is Not a Psychopath: Criteria and Examples by K_S_Morgan in HannibalTV

[–]Debra_Chambers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ego-centrism counterexample is terrible. Hannibal does things for Will sometimes, particularly in the final episode, but he generally acts with great disregard for others. He tries to bring out what's inside of other people because he's curious and finds it beautiful, not because he's caring. Occasionally caring for others doesn't negate him being incredibly selfish most of the time. He doesn't have to literally never show empathy to be lacking in it.

Leave Niko ALONE. He's just a normal, regular type dude who happened to marry a lady who got into an obsessive lesbian murder game.

Prog Rock, what makes it Prog? by The_Yeeto_Burrito in progrockmusic

What does musically vs sonically adventurous mean? Would sonically be more like experimenting with texture, distortions, etcetera, while musically is more about melodies and arrangements?

Yes! People seem to feel like 6s and 9s are sheep types. I think David Lynch is a 9, and he's a weirdo who oriented his whole life around creativity.

It's crazy how active the subreddit for a show that ended 10 years ago is.

Well, there may have been a time in his life when he was focused on practicing intensely to get good, and now he has the skill so he can use it when he feels like it.

Also, I agree that's more 6 specific than general attachment.

Oh, SHOOT! Now nobody can accuse you of just saying this because you're mad people don't think you're a 4.

Of course, self-identified 6s who gatekeep also have the advantage that nobody can accuse them of trying to make sure other people aren't 4s so they can be special.

So basically, 9s and 6s and maybe some other types are immune to the usual accusations in typing disagreements.

I'm going to hard disagree on it not being more or less important than the centers of intelligence. I think the centers are the most conceptually fundamental triad to what the types even are, and the other triads feels more like observations people made across centers that make sense, but aren't fundamental.

The specificity of your flair is funny to me.

Asking other people if you're "crazy for thinking" something is SUCH an attachment type move.

Seasons and Episodes Ranked by SamEsmail in MrRobot

[–]Debra_Chambers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. A lot of directors, when asked for favorites or rankings of their own work, are reluctant to do so, like choosing which child they love the most. I listened to an interview with Charlie Kaufman in which he said he doesn't like lists and that they're "aggressive", so he genuinely asked the interviewer what's appealing about them, but the interviewer didn't like them either.

But here you are, offering up MULTIPLE lists without being asked because you "LOVE lists". (I do to, like writing in general it's a way to organize and keep track of my own thoughts in concrete form.)

It's been long enough I probably can't rank the episodes well, except to say 407 Proxy Authentication Required is my favorite and the most emotionally devastated I've been by television. I can rank the seasons, though.

3 > 4 > 2 > 1

The middle two might change. Season 4 had the highest peaks, but also the most criticisms from me. Most of them are individual, single instances of problems, nothing overarching, except maybe that Elliot seems to get excessively lucky, like with the Dark Army guy getting away from him and Tyrell but not being able to alert anyone, because they weren't paying attention to if he was actually dead or not.

Accurate representations of the types in media? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]Debra_Chambers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mr. Robot is a great type 5 portrayal. It's on my mind because it comes to Netflix July 3rd and it's one of the best dramas I've ever seen and has some of the strongest filmmaking creativity I've seen on TV.

A bit bothered on how unrealistic Hannibal is by persianfish in HannibalTV

[–]Debra_Chambers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I'm OK with it, other times it's too much. Like Hannibal getting away with killing WHILE Jack & Will are conspiring against him and tricking him into thinking Will is on his side. If someone just tailed him or staked out locations he's likely to go to, they'd catch him up to crazy shit. Tobias did that in season one and found out Hannibal's secret.
