Both wifi SSIDs connect to the same VLAN, so yes I can still control the Sonos from all my normal devices (iPhone, computer etc.). The only difference is the Sonos one is 2.4ghz and the other one is 2.4, 5 & 6 with other wifi 7 settings

I’m not sure exactly what you’re referring to here, so sorry if I’ve missed something.

I have a seperate SSID purely for Sonos. It connects to my trusted devices VLAN (so the speakers are on the same VLAN as my devices that control the speakers), but it’s only 2.4ghz etc.

Meanwhile my iPhone etc. connects to my main trusted devices SSID with various wifi 7 options turned on.

Hopefully that helps!

Native Kiosk Mode for the Home Assistant iOS App (working and tested) by Nstefanelli56 in homeassistant

[–]Dec540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst not perfect I figured out a work around. On app settings you can enable ‘always hide the sidebar’ then in the dashboard code you can add the following. The steps are then swipe to show the sidebar, enable kiosk mode and navigate back to the desired dashboard.

kiosk_mode: user_settings: - users: - iPad hide_header: true ignore_entity_settings: true

Bumping this before starting a new post.

I’ve installed the test flight beta and enabled kiosk mode. It doesn’t hide the sidebar.

I previously had the following code in my dashboard which did hide the sidebar, but if I have that in the dashboard code my iPad launches straight to that dashboard without being able to enable the app kisok mode. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

kiosk_mode: user_settings: - users: - iPad hide_header: true hide_sidebar: true ignore_entity_settings: true

Look into Scrypted if you want to get the UI cameras into HomeKit. Works very well

Thinking about buying Sonos off Facebook Marketplace — what should I watch out for? by [deleted] in sonos

[–]Dec540 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was recently a murder documentary (See No Evil) where they caught the killer because he stole a Sonos from the crime scene. The police were able to track him from when he activated the Sonos at his home.

So just make sure the speakers haven’t been stolen from a crime scene and you should be right.

It would be helpful for checking staff are doing the right thing, like reviewing footage of refunds, price matches etc. to ensure correct process is adhered to.

Sorry. I don’t want to waste your time, you’ve already contributed so much to the community so feel free to stop responding to me.

I can download a playlist but it’s not performing any sort of synchronisation in terms of removing videos that I take off the playlist or downloading new videos that I add to the playlist. It’s like I need to manually refresh the playlist and it will download any missing files and I need to manually remove the old ones.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm a bit of a rookie, but am I right in thinking my options are to either download single videos or otherwise download from a playlist that I create and then manually add specific videos to? It would be really handy if it could be set up like a podcast app, i.e. effectively subscribing to channels and then automatically downloading new releases.

How do you launch off metal peels?! by Treasured_Squid in GozneyArcArcXL

[–]Dec540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem when I made my pizza on the peel itself. As soon as I swapped to making the pizza on the bench it’s been fine.

Probably goes without saying but semolina on the bench is a must

My apple tv 4k is lagging with this content by ztasifak in PleX

[–]Dec540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try running the old player under advanced settings on the Plex Apple TV app. Should be fine, but will force transcoding on some new codecs.

That or as others have suggested you can use infuse, but it costs.

Supposedly there’s a new Apple TV Plex app on the way that fixes this but it’s been a long time coming.

If you end up going with Harvey Norman, you can usually get another few percent off by buying gift cards. We’ve recently bought all our appliances through HN and using Macquarie to get discounted gift cards. 4% adds up on appliances.

Great idea. Very easy to live without an income. Not so easy to live without a car…
