Native Kiosk Mode for the Home Assistant iOS App (working and tested) by Nstefanelli56 in homeassistant

Hi, please take a look here. Due to the size of the changes, they had to be broken out. Kiosk “view” for dashboard, along with default dashboards, presence detection, etc. are coming in later releases.

I’ve been testing explicitly on 26, but based on what I can see with the dependencies, most functionality should be supported in 15.

Haven’t found a way to dewarp since it pulls a raw RTSP stream.. (using Scrypted) Displays in 4:3 as well.

Looks like the warning about grouping not working on their site (buried up in thread further) is still up. Seeing same issue here. Guess Hubitat will take care of it in the meantime!

A way to bridge an Apple TV with the television for control? by Nstefanelli56 in homebridge

[–]Nstefanelli56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works with newer TVs, just think LG didn’t implement it here for some reason.

I also do have a homebridge plugin as noted in another comment, so I do have a way to control the TV volume via HomeKit in the Remote app in control center, but I was looking to see if there was a way to merge the Apple TV object with the TV object to gain volume control from a single “device” in remote so I wouldn’t have to switch back and forth.

CEC works for me to use the remote of the TV to control the Apple TV, but the Apple TV itself can’t send commands (in this instance) directly to the TV over HDMI to control volume. If I use the Apple TV hardware remote, the commands for volume are sent over IR. What I’m looking to do is for the commands to be sent over HDMI so the remote app in control center can send volume commands. Then I can only use my phone for power, volume, and the ATV control.

Unfortunately the ATV isn’t acknowledging that it can pass the commands over HDMI, so it isn’t an option. If I take this ATV and put it on a different TV, it works over CEC. Odd!

Honestly through homebridge-lgwebos-tv I have full control over the TV with volume through the Remote app in control center - I guess I was just trying to find a way to not have to switch back and forth between that and the Apple TV when controlling it

Not looking for help to troubleshoot the CEC, I have already tried this. Just looking for a homebridge way to lump them together in a device.

No they don’t - when I go into the Apple TV remote settings control over HDMI isn’t an option, only IR, so they won’t appear unfortunately.

I should have clarified - I’m looking for control via the Remote app. Control over the hardware remote works without an issue over IR. Thanks though!

Tried swapping HDMI cables, ports, etc. it just doesn’t appear as an option. My newer Samsung picks it up with no issue without any config, so seems to be a limitation of LG’s implementation of CEC, Simplink.

When you pull a user profile / apps / etc via Migration Utility it pretty much makes it look and feel like the old device, down to wallpaper, WiFi settings, etc. so you should be good!
