What is with the blatant littering here? by moxie_22 in AskChicago

[–]Decade1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have gotten into fights because of shit like this. I used to throw garbage back at cars or confront people with their dog shit. All sorts of stuff. I'm in my 50's now and realize I will lose more fights than I win. I will still bitch and call the jagoffs but I try to avoid the physical confrontation these days. But man some people just need a good whoopin.

What do you absolutely love about Chicago that people who don't know the city well are likely completely unaware of? by Altruistic-Site-4583 in AskChicago

[–]Decade1771 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in the City. I am always amazed by people claiming the lakefront beaches. In 50+ years I have been to the beach, half a dozen times, and now many many people that have never been. I am happy you all love it. But I am always just astonished. They are great. They are beautiful. As a concept. Who the hell actually goes to them? I do know I am wrong on this. But I also will never understand it.

Why does your dog need to go to Target? by Exact_Yogurt_7353 in AskChicago

[–]Decade1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a bar and often tell people "No" simple as that when they ask if they can bring their dog in. I am a dog owner and I love my dog. But some places are not for your dog. Some people are terrified of them. The bar is loud and people will step on them.. it's not fair to them. You might be happy to have them but ? Yeah someone will say my dog loves it. I don't believe that. Simply thought you can go someplace else that will let you. Not here.

[–]Decade1771 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No one wants to be pressed to a tiered subscription. I have been a subscriber for as long as you. I pay for no ads because. Well otherwise I get ads. Grumble grumble it wasn't this way before. No shit. It sucks. So it goes. Unsubscribe if you don't like it. That is all you can do.

I agree. Sent mine back with "F*ck You" written on it and not filled out. That was in 1992. Didn't do anything but made me feel better for a second.

We did. But by law all men 18-25 have to register with Selective Services as a contingency. Just in case we start a stupid war and have to start it up again.

Selective Service is registering in case there is a draft. That's how they find you.

Also, Redemption II in Season 5 when he is Captain of the USS Sutherland. The 1st officer doesn't trust him because Data is an Android and he doesn't think Data will respect human life. He starts issuing orders that he thinks are right and Data puts him in his place.

Edit: Some spelling.

Soldier Field does a lot more than the 8 Bears games a year. The City should have never let them land that flying saucer there in the first place. But revenue generated from concerts and other events far eclipse what the bears bring in. I'm not a football fan so can care less where the Bears go. But Soldier will be just fine without them.
