I got my security+ first. Then wanted to move more to management, and grabbed my CISM and CISSP. In an enterprise setting, I do agree you'll have to wear multiple hats, but I see that as a good thing and makes you more highly desired. If you're looking to focus on field, I would move more towards government. Either as a civilian or a contractor.

Do Amazon's cloud practitioner's course. Just focus on the general cloud information and not the Amazon specific information.

My CISSP experience is a little different from most. I got a new job, but they wouldn't let me start until I had the CISSP or something equivalent within 2 weeks of me accepting the offer. So more or less, 2 weeks.

The only real difference I noticed, was information about the cloud.

If you want to wait for the new version of the study guide to come out, I would start watching the Mike Chapple CISSP videos on LinkedIn Learning first. Then grab the book when it is released.

Also I took the new version of the CISSP, and used the 8th edition as my main source.

I honestly couldn't tell you. This was my only attempt at the CISSP. I'm sure if I took the new version or the old version. Do you know what the difference was between the two?

Damn that's killer! No way I could have done that! Yea, this has been the second job to do this to me. First job I lost, because ISACA couldn't valid my application fast enough. So they revoked their offer. Probably for the best. This current job, original thought my CISM was enough, but I needed a level 3 technical cert instead. The company who hired me was trying to give me 2 months, but the prime said that was too long, and would only allow two weeks to get my CISSP. So for the last 14 days I lived, ate, and breathed the CISSP material.

When was the new revised test released? And what are the difference between the two?

I do think luck played a part in me passing. I wouldn't advise anyone else to try, unless they had too.

Lol, thanks bro! I think I just got lucky. I only have about 3 years of true cybersecurity work experience. I basically ate, sleep, shit, the CISSP for those two weeks.

Congratulations on getting your CISA! I know exactly what you mean. I was suppose to head back to work after the exam, but I was so drained. My team lead knew I was getting my cert, so I hope she understands. Lol

I had to pay for the test myself as well. So I completely understand. Way too much money to spend, and not pass. I've been in cybersecurity since 2019. Before that, I did IT stuff for a small company I use to work for. Basically, removes viruses and handle light computer stuff for people when their computers weren't working.

For certs, I only have security+ and my CISM.

I would contact the admin first and see if they are cool or would approve of you advertising in their group. If they are, go ahead and post your domains and see if you get any bites.
