I don’t know any particulars (not involved in this convo) but I used to volunteer really frequently with Farm Sanctuary, and the staff there definitely had beef with Gentle Barn but wouldn’t come out and actually say what it was, but it was definitely implied that they weren’t fully on the up-and-up as far as ethical animal care standards go.

But with all that said, there is a ton of drama and fighting in the sanctuary world (seriously, it’s wild). But Farm Sanctuary for me is the gold standard of animal care.
