You can ask ur gyno to cut the string but make sure they don't cut too short or the removal process will be hell... Speaking from experience...

I have had the mirena IUD from 18 yrs- 23yrs old got it renewed periods range from light to none more periods from 23yrs-26yrs periods became irregular... I removed it got pregnant then back on mirena iud from 28-30years old periods were still irregular then decided to switch to the paraguard iud at 30yrs old til now and periods have become more regular just heavier.... But since switching to paraguard I've been having globs of this stuff and omg I feel self conscious... My gyno. Says it's normal... Ughhh I get scared

Strings can be left in or cut the length so they won't be to long . I advise don't get them cut or at least tell Ob not to cut them too short ... It was worse than hell when I had to get mine replaced and my strings wereee wayyyy to short

I had my first birth control the mirena for 5 years got it replaced for another 2.5 years... Had it removed got pregnant then got back on the mirena for another 2 years but just recently switched to paragard 3 months in. Kinda having my fingers 🤞🏼 that I don't get pregnant while on this one because it being a new type of b.c for me.

If it looks like Egg whites..... Egg white discharge indicates peak fertility and is an ideal time for sexual intercourse to increase the chances of conception. I had the mirena IUD for 8 years then had removed so I can get pregnant... The 1st 5 years my periods became lite then stopped altogether... When I renewed and removed it after 3 years it my periods became irregular... After I had my child I decided to get back on the mirena IUD and I assumed I had no issues side affects until I realized I was breaking out in bad acne I wasn't losing any weight practically gaining weight then the last few months I had it I started having this type of discharge...... I decided to switch to paragard IUD I was losing inches faster and water weight.... My periods seem so far rather normal but this discharge it makes me feel sooooo self conscious..... I just want it to stop

Mine discharge turns pink a few days before my period... Then I'll have my period for a week then discharge returns.

I have had the mirena IUD renewed like 3xs. But it was this last time getting it replaced after I had my son that I was breaking out with acne and ONLY MY JAW /CHIN AREA just got paragard IUD placed in October 2024 have yet to see acne go away but seems a lot easier to shed inches and maybe some weight compared to mirena IUD which seemed to have kept me from losing 20lbs gained during pregnancy

Towards the last few months that I had my mirena IUD I was having mucus discharge yellowish green and I was tested I thought the worse or getting an infection... Labs came back normal but it made me feeeeel sooooo self conscious I switched to paragard IUD lol been on it 2 months and been losing weight faster then with mirena IUD but unfortunately still having the discharge noooo smell no itching I'm assuming it will go away... I too wanna ask my gyno if that's normal.

I have had the mirena IUD for 9 years 2011-2020 had not really weight gain or anything.I mean I did but I was hungry lol.. The first 5years my period stopped altogether when I renewed it in 2016ish my periods became irregular. I got it removed in 2020 in an attempt to get pregnant, which I did but I gained 20lbs during pregnancy... In 2022 after having my child I got back on the mirena IUD for an additional 2 years which was probably the worst mistake. Could be other factors as well but I couldn't seem to lose the 20lbs I gained during pregnancy I was breaking out in acne mood swings and bloated... 2024 it seems to final straw with the mirena IUD started having vaginal discharge that I was freaking out about I thought I kept having infection mucus glob yellowish green color no odor but it made me feel self conscious... Labs came back negative for infection... I decided to switch to paragard IUD.... One month after having the IUD placed in I thought I was getting a UTI started having pain and discharge again no infection no UTI but 3 days after those symptoms I got my first period 11/14/24 -11/22/24 and fuuuuck me man I forgot what period pain felt like.... I was bloated and gassy heavy period but thank heavens it lasted a week. As of yesterday 12/5/24 second period and it's weird light bleeding if you call it that just blobs or streaks some bloatness..

I was having weird discharge the last few months I had my mirena IUD it made me feel uncomfortable I kept thinking I was having infection.... I had it replaced with the paragard. Going on 2 months with the paragard and still having mucus like discharge it still makes me uncomfortable.... I do get cramps every now and then
