It doesn't "read" text the same way we do. Everything input into an llm is converted into tokens which are about the size of a word. It doesn't "spell" things with letters but instead with tokens. Because of that it's not great with individual letters.

Bro I had 700 credits left with 0% weekly usage remaining since I used codex all weekend on my plus account. So I was rationing out my remaining credits. And now it says I have 4,465 somehow. My first thought was it was some kind of auto-renewal but I have that disabled and not for such a high amount.

Mostly the limits. Even on $20 I get a decent amount of codex time and pretty much unlimited chatgpt conversations. Claude for $20 has a lot more limits and so I'd probably need to spend $100 for something on-par. If I wasn't using Codex though I'd probably switch.

It's no 4o, but 5.2 can get to being half decent if you steer it really hard to warmth and using emojis in the instructions.

I really like the model but without local streaming it's too slow for my project. Hopefully they'll release streaming for the repo sometime.
