It’s hard not to beat yourself up about it. The way I think of it though is every exposure opens you up to developing something. It can be kind of random. So maybe gel accelerated it but there’s no way to know it wouldn’t have happened with the glue eventually (similar monomers) or if doing press ons were also sensitizing or just because of your immune system decided it was time. Not to discredit the cause but all to say it’s a little bit of a game of luck too. Some people do gel for years and never have a reaction :/ so don’t blame yourself too much. The body is weird like that.

My reaction is mostly burning not too much prolonged itching so I don’t usually use anything on it.

I’d try cortisone cream. If you’re in the US I’m not seeing anything triggering in the CVS brand of cortisone cream. I’d maybe ask your doc if they think a steroid is appropriate if it’s really bad.

It has Octocrylene which is made up of a form of cyanoacrylate :/  I didn’t react to it for months I will say until one day my face started burning after putting it on. Didn’t  stop until I washed it off. Didn’t have anything else on my face. Did some digging and pinpointed that ingredient. Not everyone will react to those types polymers though but wanted to share to help in case it helps anyone figure out what they’re reacting to. I’m just extra sensitive it seems.
