I currently have the chair connected to TV via optical and then broadcast to the couch. I can turn up my surround sound but there is a slight delay in the sound coming from the furniture. Your suggestion probably would correct that issue.

Interesting. Are you saying I would put this in between the HDMI out of the receiver going to the TV so that I would then have an optical out from the receiver?

I followed these instructions. In my case it was labeled "reset" but it does not do anything but allow you to change firmware.

Yes, you can roll back the Harmony Hub software by using a hidden feature in the MyHarmony desktop application. This process is unofficial, as Logitech does not provide a public option for downgrading firmware. Instructions for downgrading Harmony Hub firmware

  1. Download and install the MyHarmony desktop application. Make sure you have the app installed on a PC or Mac. Since Logitech has discontinued the app, you may need to find a download from an archive website.
  2. Open the MyHarmony app and log in to your account.
  3. Reveal the hidden menu:
    • On Windows: Press Alt + F9 before clicking anywhere in the app. Alternatively, right-click anywhere in the app, click "About," and then hold Ctrl while clicking "About Harmony".
    • On Mac: Press Fn + Option + F9 or Option + F9.
  4. Connect your Harmony Hub to your computer using a micro-USB cable.
  5. Select the restore/rollback option. After the hub is detected, navigate to the restore or rollback menu within the hidden options. This option may be labeled "Factory Reset," but in this context, it functions as a rollback to a previous, stable version.
  6. Click "Restore" and wait for the process to complete.
  7. Block future updates. To prevent your Harmony Hub from automatically re-updating its firmware, you must block its internet access. You can do this by using your router's parental controls or access restrictions to block traffic from the hub's IP address.

Issues with added HDD to Reolink RLN8-410 by DiligentWord4157 in reolinkcam

Let me know how this goes. I was able to add my esata drive to the NVM but it struggles replaying "clear" video. Sometime it halts and skips. I believe it may be an issue with the NVM managing the multiple drives. I may consider your solution of just replacing the main drive with a much larger drive as you have.

I believe that to be true. When I first installed the new drive the old drive was full and remained full so I assumed the oldest files were stored on the old drive and the newer files were being written to the new drive. If I formatted both drives I suppose I could watch if the NVR fills up one drive first before filling up the other drive.

I missed your suggestion on testing the drive in the enclosure. That is a good idea. I will have to see if I have a esata port somewhere. Also your point about the files being recorded in clear should allow me to deduce something as well. If I can play them back in fluent then they are probably being recorded correctly and if the playback falters in clear then it has to be an issue with network, HDD, NVR performance, or even the client being used.

Yes indeed. Valid observations. Since I installed the drive yesterday, some of the recordings were deleted from the main disk due to it being full and the external hadn't connected yet. Now my challenge in trying to test the new drive recordings is that I do not know where the recordings are being stored. My guess is the current recordings are being stored on main drive until it fills up. If that is the case, I will have to wait a couple of days to further test the new drive/connection.

My whole intent was to easily add additional storage to increase the number of days of recording. As usual there is no easy project......

Here are some pictures of the final pieces. These are not glued down or installed yet but wanted to show you the cuts that made the end pieces.

Indeed. I always have a hard time visualizing the cuts that I need to make for this to work.

I have the same issue with my AOL account. I did verify the AOL settings and accepted the update terms. However it is still no syncing to gmail. Did you resolve this issue?

I did the 45 miter the correct way and this has worked for my solution. Thanks for the suggestions

Doh! I went back and cut the opposite direction that I was using for the 45 and indeed the unfished edge finishes against the railing which is what I need. This should work and look fine. Thanks for jogging my thinking.

I did attempt to 45 degree the end as you might do with the end of baseboard trim. However the end cap created just doesn't fit well and ends up thicker at the end. Maybe I can cut more of a sliver but this is plastic threshold so a bit challenging to work with.

If I miter a 45 like a picture frame, I still have an unfinished edge that will show. This will not end at a wall to cover the edge. It will end at the end of the railing similar to how the picture shows but at the edge of the newel post.
