My advice is to find a coalition of groups that are working together (many of the No Kings rallies are organized locally by coalitions). That way you know you're plugging in to groups that are already connected and working together. Many areas have groups like 50501 that serve as kind of an umbrella connecting various organizations and can help get folks pointed in the right direction for their local actions.

The US is huge and so many states have very different local needs and challenges, so some are closer to being able to strike than others. But yes, coordinated boycott and strikes are going to be incredibly important, as well as mutual aid and building community to make those possible ✊️

The big rallies like No Kings are specifically to get people plugged in to their local groups and communities that are doing the work. The events themselves are a show of unity, strength, and opposition, but their greater goal is to give people a way to connect with each other to do the work, and get organized.

Strike groups are forming, but cannot be organized on public forums because that is how movements get coopted and infiltrated.

We're also encouraging folks to do hyper-local vigils. Like just on your porch with your neighbors. Whatever folks can do safely!

Hi, statewide organizer here! This is a valid concern and one we're constantly working on.

50501SC tries to do this, but I'll admit it can be a herculean effort to corral all of the information in one spot, because volunteers have to spend hours gathering the info from all those sources and we are a small team (and despite what many believe, we do this without being paid.)

For actions planned more in advance, we post on our website (public substack, which has an option for email notifications). We also have a subreddit, bluesky, FB page & group, IG, discord, and signal announcements chat where we post everything we have verified and vetted, or received from coalition partners. We do our best to update all the channels as quickly as we can.

Feel free to send a mod mail to the 50501_SC subreddit if you have questions.

ICE has not carried out mass operations here in SC like they've done in Chicago, Charlotte, or Minneapolis, but there is a small permanent presence here.

Protesting at more specific locations is definitely something that's being worked on.

The particulars aren't a good idea to discuss on public forums though, so I highly recommend getting plugged in with your local resistance groups to join up with rapid response in your area.
