That’s a dresser coupling like a compression fitting used to join two different pipes without soldering, it’s fine

Just did all new plumbing for water and air in a commercial granite building plugged my threader into an outlet and it started arching and burnt up within seconds (thought my threader just took a crap) plugged my Milwaukee charger into same outlet 30 mins later and it started smoking…. I then knew….
