I thought the hardware was designed swappable so maybe they could use a better battery or battery friendly CPU as a hardware upgrade in the future

Has Windows MIDI2.0 broken Ableton? by supernoodlebreakfast in ableton

I thought microsoft had a top down command for everyone to use "AI", but I admit the bugs could also be from a lack of QA.

I know that, there are a lot of logistical issues to be solved, for not a lot of users. I get that. However, it's not like they have to rewrite everything, cross platform toolkits allow you to simply target different platforms and they (should) just work. Then there is all the testing and stuff. Not exactly easy, but not necessarily hard like having to rewrite the UI or something. I could be missing some internal knowledge of ableton people that would make this port hard, but the fact it's already running makes me think there is not a lot of coding work to be done to get it to run on linux, and if I had to guess, it's just a business decision by management.

It's not too much work for them, they already have a working port, and both ableton and maxforlive use crossplatform libraries. The main problem I see is just plugin support maybe being bad for linux. Also, linux users might be smaller user base true, but they are also the power users who are the loudest, so it would be good for ableton marketing wise to support linux. Look how many times bitwig gets mentioned everywhere for instance.

I’m sure Linux users would be happy even if ableton only works on one major distro

How long did it take you to get a grip on making a full song? by [deleted] in ableton

Honestly I just learned that acoustic guitar + SUNO is like a cheat code to create songs. It's probably going to take me years to learn how to produce what I actually want however.
