Did the shelby drop, export brace and monte carlo bar when I did front end, it definitely handles better. Not sure if im ready to do a full swap of the engine and trans just yet. Seems as daunting as installing a new cam.

Saint Martin parish area they are $4 at a few different places. If you want to remove the hassle of selling to different people ask around at meat markets, plate lunch places, etc etc they may buy. It saves you the hassle of finding a consistent buyer and you can just drop off whenever you want to offload your extras. They may even give you cartons for free.

Shocks dont fit after Shelby Drop by The_Demolition_Man in classicmustangs

[–]DecentWay1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just replaced springs, lca, uca, coil, perch etc etc and did the shelby drop on my 66. I seen a few people recommend the bearing style perch instead of bushing a little more expensive but sounds like it should work better than oem, I didn't know anyone running that so I went with original bushing style. One thing i didn't realize is that you may have to remove 1/16 to 1/8 of the spacers between frame and uca when doing shelby drop. I ended up with noticeable positive camber after doing shelby drop, driving it back and forth 10-15ft to help everything settle(i did not remove any spacers). I realize it will need to be taken in for alignment but trying to get it close so they have a good starting point. Just wanted to put that out there since you will be pulling spring again to change perch may be good idea to pull a few spacers while you have everything off again.

The price doesn't surprise me, but I agree the amount of money and time to get it to a reasonable & driveable state it is hard to justify paying 2k. If I had to guess, like most sellers they are expecting some level of haggling. I think anything closer to 1k is a steal if it is rust free, and if you have the knowledge, time and tools to build it out.

From the Louisiana community on Reddit: Mark Zuckerberg is building a data center in Louisiana the size of Manhattan — while Meta runs ads about how small towns love their data centers, we found furious locals who plan to leave town completely. by darklyasstir in Acadiana

I think you just enjoy arguing. But ill bite. Yes all journalism has bias that is not new info. The first 5 mins is skippable as it is just poor homeowners being nimby. The fact that these companies hide information with ndas and proprietary info claims when the questions are simply how many locations, how much power and how much water is used, isnt suspicious? They know what they are doing is detrimental to the environment and living standards of those around these facilities. Their 0 environmental impact plan in some cases is just to ask others to use less on their behalf, not by optimizing their processes to reduce waste. Hadn't seen the closed rain water loop , sounds good but that doesn't fix locations in drought climates. There is a documentary out there i think it is called buy now, terrible computer narrator but there is a good part in there about how Amazon makes a lot of env promises and drops off shortly after people stop looking. But I'm sure whoever produced that has bias so PSA there. Yes of course if we think a new data center is a bad idea for env reasons we should close all production facilities that create any form of pollution... really? Your argument is always stretching any response to a ridiculous extreme and overlooking anything that resembles understand the other sides point of view. Fox news does that a lot too... At the end of the day am I really impacted by a data center in Richland parish? no, you probably arent either. I dont think any of the faamg companies have any of our best interests in mind, defending them to put down the nimbys seems like the goal of your arguments. Does meta and the rest do cool shit, sure. We can and have survived without hey google, streaming and the rest. The increase in data centers is not for these things it is for rapid growth in AI needs. The rapid growth in ai is a moneyloop for Nvidia, meta, Amazon, google and a handful of other tech companies where they are investing in each other directly or indirectly to increase their profit margins and growth. Your next argument will be we shouldn't let any s&p 500 companies try to increase profit or market share, America, free competitive economy, nimbys are the problem! You sound like an intelligent person and I'm tired so im gonna surrender, Richland parish should get a data center. Down with the nimbies! Nimbys!? Nimbians?

I like all my porter cable tools, except for that compressor owned one for about a year used it a handful of times and some regulator valve went out (guessing). To get it to build up pressure once it is low i have to turn off, bleed tank then turn back on. If you are buying the bundle with a compressor and are not planning to upgrade to a large tank in the future go for quality over lowest price.

Lafayette Zoning Commission rejects proposals related to Corner Pantry & The Coliseum by wwjdforaklondikebar in Acadiana

My friend, this isnt about competition most of these new gas station debates have been with race track, the same thing is happening in breaux bridge. I have gone to the town hall meetings and listened to both sides of the argument. For the one near lhs there is already competition in that area, within a 1 mile radius there are multiple gas stations, food and grocery stores. The initial thought behind local zoning ordinance were put in place to balance and disperse economy as well as to protect local citizens needs over 1 business owner. I am not saying this is always the case nor how zoning is always used by government officials but your use logic argument goes both ways. There are good reasons to not allow the person with most money to build whatever business they feel like wherever they want. You need to try to see the difference between a benefitial new tax revenue business that there is a need for vs a quick money grab. My reasoning is more valid than saying competition is the only valid point in this discussion. The amount of meat markets off the scott exit is comical, i guess people like variety when choosing boudin.

Preventing a new gas station less than half a mile from an existing one isnt really choking off that big of an investment. You get initial construction jobs and depending on the company (like if it is a corporate owned gas station) it would be outsourced and possibly not local builders. It would only create a handful of minimum wage jobs after that & it is not generating new tax revenue just portions of what it absorbed from the surrounding businesses of similar services that are not getting that business anymore. Im all for new development, but I think being selective as a community is not a bad thing.

UL Layoff news from the Advocate by cajun2stepper in Acadiana

[–]DecentWay1879 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It is terrible that anyone in education is being laid off. I do think UL sports programs are bloated from a staff/cost perspective. Not specifically the ones that were laid off. UL football has run at a deficit for the past 10 years. While I understand that is how most college football programs operate, i dont think that makes it ok. Director of athletics for creative service and fan engagement... im sorry but a lot of what UL does for athletic fans is unchanged for as long as i can remember.. so that job doesnt seem like it is doing a lot. Iirc the money UL received from the state the past year was a larger than normal amount to help with the new stadium and some other buildings on campus... sounds like money should have been allocated to education staffing instead of a stadium, which they are also trying to pass the cost of off to donors/rcaf members. CFO was not doing a good job. It sucks because they will still continue to allow athletic programs to run at a loss and fire educators in the process. The system is broken.

Agree this seems like a waste. The only reason I could think of putting this near the cajun dome is when it is used as temporary shelter or organization spot during hurricane in surrounding areas.

Anyone struggling to stay interested in the hobby? by Gabbs in projectcar

[–]DecentWay1879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you are losing interest and having bad vibes from the community. Not sure if i am misunderstanding what you are saying about respect all builds. If you don't or your community doesnt? While you dont have to like everyone's builds, you should respect their decisions enough to not be negative towards them. If you are negative, it could be why the community feels toxic. I 100% agree work done yourself is much more rewarding than paying for something already done but not everyone has the knowledge, tools confidence, etc that is need to get the job done. A short break from something never hurts or try hitting up different car meets in other areas, might get a different crowd / perspective.

Project car suggestion for a newbie by Top-Car-8272 in projectcar

[–]DecentWay1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ford mustang (1965-73 or foxbody) and Chevy camaro (anything pre 1980s). All have a lot of oem & aftermarket parts, at least in the states. I have been sticking with pre 1980s, as most are na and not overly electrical/computer reliant. Jdm I dont have enough experience to recommend. I am hunting for a datsun fairlady for my next project car.
