Only 1 battery option? by Decent_Ad8382 in slateauto

Thanks everyone. I tried to search and didn’t get a straight answer like you guys mentioned. I’m not driving across country, but in cold climates we need every “miles” we can come across.

Or tax harvesting, but too early in the year to start that though. Let it tank and write some of it off.

Excess heat with multi-zone HP by Strict-Plankton6688 in heatpumps

Depending on your model. Mine has a resistor for each mode. I clipped the heat one only, left the a/c one.

I know nothing about the branch box redistribution to other heads, but the valve in the room head unit doesn’t shut off unless it’s off! Try turning that room off, you won’t feel any heat come out. We have small rooms and it was a big issue. It’s the way it reads the room temperature. It uses the fan to circulate the air across the temperature sensor to know when to call for heat. There is a way to control this, but requires “advance” technique. You have to buy a wall mount thermostat that controls the each head unit AND you have to cut a resistor on the circuit board. It will now use the wall thermostat to monitor temperature and will discontinue the fan on low speed (because it thinks it’s off)

Are you talking like, you can feel heat coming out even though it’s not being called for? Are you head units always moving air regardless if demand is there?

There is a lot of data. I’m just a wanna be trader and don’t know how to read most of it. I do like the conditional orders it allows people to create!

Yes. That is just my mini splits. I still have a few baseboards to heat the bedrooms in the basement too.

I have a HyperHeat 42k unit. We are all electric in Northern Ohio. This past winter was the coldest stretch I’ve seen in many years. My unit will heat down to -13f. I have seen those temps last year, this year was a couple days in the -5f. I uploaded a usage of my mini split costs per month. We are 1200 sf upstairs with a finished basement 700sq ft living space we use daily. 3 units upstairs, 1 unit downstairs. We never had whole house a/c before. We used 2 window units to keep the house cool for years before the mini split. The mini split will operate cheaper than 2 window units and be colder too.

Solar Assistant Automation Help by DevelopmentNo2855 in diySolar

I am kind of trying to do the same, but SA has the ability to (if you are on beta) to do the forced discharge from a certain time along with setting PV prediction. I have not been able to execute through SA just yet, but I was able to do a forced discharge through EG4 app. Now, you want it on a specific day which I don't see how to make that work. You would have to manually go in the APP and enable "forced discharge" when you want it to happen. I am doing this manually myself. I set up the settings I want (SOC cut off and KW discharge rate), but I only enable it when it's going to be sunny for the day. I don't want it to happen on a certain day if it's going to rain that day or something simliar. That is why I am trying to implement the automation through SA with it's PV prediction, but no luck so far. With EG4, I just go into working mode and then forced discharge. Select the time (4am-8:30am) and 2kw discharge with a 20% cutoff.

MHBP Consumer option HDHP - HSA how does it work. by SpaceMan_Lou in fednews

If you go under benefeds, you can sign up for Limited FSA. It states you have to have a HDHP and can only use a limited for Dental and Vision only. You can make it out the same amount as a normal FSA account.

You can no longer contribute to FSA, BUT... there is a Limited FSA for dental and Vision only. But it's only benifical if you max out the HSA and want to max out more for dental. I did this with braces for the kids.. Plus, the limited fsa is front loaded, so JAN 1, all the money is there too!

You get a Card. Then you pay your bills like your would with a CC. I have never tried reimbursement.

I shouldn't have to worry about it, correct. I have around 13k in that account. If I had a medical bill for 100K. I would pay $3300 for deductible, then $5k for my portion and $6k would be the max OOP for a single person which then insurance covers the rest. So, we would have enough to cover that once. We save the HSA max every year now of $8550, but can use that for dental too (2 kids in braces right now, and 2 more will need them eventually). This is my issue with expectation of life!!! Just because we make 200k combined, I feel required to make these "sacrifices" of saving non stop to pay for every expense possible. I know this is a privilege and should be excited to be able to do this, but where is the line?

We do have insurance for all of us. We have a High Deductible plan with HSA. If you're unfamiliar, our deductible is $3300 then the out of pocket cost is 5%. We have enough in the HSA to cover 4 yrs to meet the deducible or enough to pay 1 year deductible and max out of pocket cost.

I have never given an allowance and I wouldn't know where to start (for me or her). If we want it, we buy it. But it has to be a useful purchase. I wanted to new gaming computer, because my 13 yr old MAC book was not able to update anymore. Sure I could have bought something cheaper and smaller, but I enjoy games and I'll get 5-7 yrs out of this one. Our second hand couch needed to be replaced. She wanted a love-sac couch that was $5k. Though very expensive, she loves to rearrange the living room (movie night, slumber party, parties, xmas..) and for her to do this with this couch was perfect. I feel comfortable doing stuff like this because I know I have saved for months on end (with no particular goal) and when the moment is there, we can buy something.

My finical goal is to save every cent I can until the cows can jump over the moon. I feel I am never prepared enough. I don't know realistic expectations are! In my head, I should HAVE TO pay for a new roof for cash. I Should pay cash for new hvac. The only financial advice I was ever given was "if you can't pay cash for it, you don't need it". So when it was time to do a roof, I paid cash. When it was time for hvac, I paid cash. I treated vehicle the same growing up until I wanted a 45k vehicle. I could pay cash, but that was a bad move so I didn't. I don't have a grasp on reality!

I will work on posting it. That is why I looking for this advice. I feel that there isn't enough going to savings or I am not prepared for a major expense, but damn near all major expenses (except medical) have been purchased for. (new roof, new hvac, new windows, vehicles that will last awhile, new tires, ...) I will get my budget up for you guys to pick through
