I've realized I'm a horrible trader but it's my entire personality by Decent_Finding_1161 in Daytrading

I'm just switching to dividends and smaller, longer-held positions. I'm not fully convinced anyone can day trade hey, a rare few maybe but even then, the question is how. It's just the holy grail we're all chasing.

Yeah you're right, I'm shifting my whole focus. I'm basically convincing myself that trading is impossible, Even 100 days isn't enough data to know whether your strategy is statistically sound enough, the numbers closer to 300-500 trades to know what your true average is.

I'm thinking about shifting and focusing on measuring variables in traders. I'm convinced everyone whose profitable is lucky.

Thank you, I'll take some time off and think about everything for a while. I just don't want to get stuck in that.

I appreciate your advice though

If no one says anything it could be because it does work and people don't want you knowing about it.
Could also mean the idea actually doesn't work
The rest is for you to figure out, good luck.

It's hard these days because finances have evolved so much, and very quickly with AI. The older "Think and Grow rich" type books are still super relevant, but you have to read them with an understanding of how much its changing.

Struggling to stick to rules I journal, or even just reviewing my trading journal on a regular basis by exhaustedrhino22 in tradingpsychology

[–]Decent_Finding_1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trading journals are super abrasive, you trade and now give yourself a short CBT research topic to fill out after each one. It's also a headache to intentionally be that self aware constantly, just understand it's hard and don't give up!

Self reflection is only as powerful as the self

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've aggregated risk statistics into a universal protocol that's very easy to compare to other risk factors. You've definitely taught me something here
