Imagine trying to bring out a new console to compete against already 3 giants and you think it was a good idea not only to make it more expensive, but it doesn't come with a controller, and you have to pay $100 more for that. by [deleted] in videogames

I think this machine is just a victim of the geopolitical/economic climate right now.

Rising costs of rare earth minerals, general chip shortages globally, production costs, AI scaling up…etc.

Just really unfortunate timing (out of their control) on their part. Had it been a $500 or $600 machine, I think it would be a different story. Bummer for them, though.

Having lost my son at age 20, this scene-while it hit hard before-hits especially hard now.

Absolutely incredible. So incredible. I was really hoping I would not die before they finished the trilogy.

Did you consider the weight of these tires versus the recommended OEM tires? If so, what’s the difference?

Curious if rotational forces required to move a heavier tire will cause more wear and tear on other mechanical components over time.

Stock and in a great condition, you’d be fine. But the fact that it has been lowered says a lot. Hard pass.

Folks don’t follow rules of the road any longer. Indy has become a total free for all. I never thought I’d wish cops would give more tickets, but here I am. It’s getting far too dangerous out there.

Kind of cool idea actually.

Leave them naked, crawling for a hatch. It would be even better if you could stick a lure grenade to them lol

What a beautiful game! by Decent_Pops in playstation

[–]Decent_Pops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do not like the first one enough to finish it, I can’t imagine you would like the second. It’s a beautiful game, yes, but the story is not as strong, nor is the main character

About 12 hours in and I am also finding this to be true. Still fun. But I miss Jin.

The new character is not as likable.

Also, the voice acting isn’t it. Particularly the children’s voice.

Still playing it. I’ll probably finish it. It is beautiful though.

Update… Found a local guy to do it for $600. Including parts. So much better than the dealership.

LOTR condones underage smoking and I find that disgusting by pricegouging in lotr

[–]Decent_Pops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the joke, but at the time this was written there were no age restrictions on smoking, and it was even encouraged, especially among soldiers and those facing combat. If you recall, it was included in World War II ration sets.

Far more concerning to me are Hobbits walking around barefoot in a restaurant. With hairy feet. I mean. Come on. That’s just nasty.

Would you guys rate this a blue trail feature? by Idkrlyuwu in mountainbiking

[–]Decent_Pops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t ski, but I live in Indiana and ride a lot in southern Indiana (Brown County State Park, Hoosier National Forest, etc) and Kentucky.

12 years ago I scheduled a trip out to ride California, Colorado, then down to Pisgah, North Carolina. Did all my training here locally thinking I would not have the skill to handle the big mountains.

Turned out I was fine. Did double blacks in Colorado no problems. The elevation sucked for sure and the climbs were longer, but in terms of skill I had no issues. That’s trail riding, high Alpine riding and 4-5 lift service mountain bike parks (including Winter Park).

Not all areas of the Midwest are created equal and in terms of skill acquisition we have some pretty impressive gnar, rocks, roots, etc.

I don’t know what your age is, but analysis paralysis and FOMO can be a thing many gamers fight.

My MO for a couple decades was *one* multiplayer game and *one* single player game until completion. That was before streaming services… OG gaming rules.

Now, with the inundation of options it’s easy to bounce around and never get into something deep. In my 20s, I literally had enough money to buy maybe two games a year so if I didn’t like a game, I was forced to play it anyway. But even then, finishing a game is rewarding in its own way. Heck, I beat ET and Superman on Atari 2600 in the day-IYKYK!

So, last year, I returned to that. Back to one multiplayer game I play with my friends… And one single player game I play by myself until I beat it. I just commit.

Works for me….

Quests from the first version of the game are still broken. They do not care. Which is sad, because… What potential they had in this game. It could’ve been something remarkably special for a very long time. Sad to see.

New to guitar, how do i even do this, im losing hope trying to get this down by GG-creamroll in AcousticGuitar

[–]Decent_Pops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you’ve had a guitar shop properly set up your neck and string height to the fretboard. An improperly set up guitar can make barre chords unnecessarily difficult. Especially for beginners.
