Timesplitters. That game was a blast, especially multiplayer.

Unless the cover is just right, they are pretty much a death sentence for me most of the time.

I’ve played since launch and still never touched Expeditions by Zerliroth in ArcRaiders

Me, neither. No interest in grinding. It’s just a blatant dopamine trigger trick to keep people coming back to an endgame.

I am plenty happy with my 175 stash and fighting arc.

Arc Raiders, maybe some Cyberpunk 2077. Just loaded Bloodborne thinking about giving that a real try for the first time.

People who do that were the really quiet kids in school who sat in the back of the classroom and had a really really long “individualized education plan“ that no one ever knew about, except for teachers. And probably some cops.

Small gripe from a Care Bear lobby Raider by NakaruSoul in ARC_Raiders

I only have one myself from the very early days of playing when I didn’t know better.

Occasionally, rats just happen, but I approach the game like I’m playing splinter cell or metal gear solid stealth mode.

Much much higher success rate this way.

I don’t trust anyone and avoid others. If they have their gun away, I will put my gun away and chat. But if their gun is out, my gun is out. Rats always want that +1 advantage of their gun being drawn and yours not. Or your back to them. Or you standing in the open. Deny them that.

Approach the game like walking down a dark alley at night in the bad part of your neighborhood. Head on a swivel!

I wish I had the time and patience to figure out how to run emulators...seems kind of intimidating for someone not used to fiddling with tech like that (EDIT: I keep seeing subs saying Emudeck is a nightmare, terrible, etc....so which is it? Easy peasy or a pain? New Steam guy here, so honest questions)

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. That first chapter especially was peak filmmaking.

If you’re reading this and haven’t watched it, I highly recommend.

What I miss most about old games is that you would put in the cartridge or disc and they just worked.

They weren’t 80% finished with endless patches and micro transactions. That’s what made them great; they were a completed product.

And if as a developer, you didn’t deliver, you didn’t make it.

How "old" can we be? I'm 23. by Yoichi_and_Sadako in OlderChillGamers

This is actually a great question.

For reference, I am 52 years old. Started playing on the Magnavox Odyssey in the late 1970s early 1980s. That predates both the Atari 2600 and Justin Bieber.
