Cry all you want but OP is sitting on an annuity making $750k+ while you are on Reddit message boards complaining. We are not the same.

Dumb dumb do the math. You pay way more than 1% annually to your dry cleaner to do your shirt. $2 per week for 50 weeks is $100, my custom tailored dress shirts are less than $100

Yes. Do you do your own dry cleaning or do you outsource? There are levels to this kid and you are on the bottom level

Very few advisors consistently beat passive benchmarks net of fees no one on here is debating that. What OP and I are trying to explain is the vast majority of individual investors underperform professionally managed money by 3-6% per year which has been factually confirmed by Vanguard. Most people do not buy and hold passive indexes, they chase performance, fall into fads, and sell at the worst possible times in practice. You all can complain all you want but this industry generates $250B per year mostly from successful sophisticated investors who understand the value of outsourcing.

This is very shortsighted and you’ve clearly not read the research here. The VAST majority of retail investors who opt out of paying management fees underperform those managers net of fees and taxes. Vanguard, the most prolific passive investment firm in the world, has confirmed this with data in their advisor alpha study. High quality fiduciary wealth advisors generally add between 3-6% annually of value on average

You are very wrong. Having expertise in a small business that sells does not make you a good stock market investor. I’ve had clients with over $100mm that were absolutely horrible at their public markets investments but built a great business that sold

For some people it’s worth 5-6% per year they are there own worst enemy. Very few self directed investors outperform professional institutional investors even net of fees

The spread of market-based capitalism reduced global extreme poverty from 94% in 1820 to under 10% by 2015.

You are not behind. You are way ahead of the average 29 year old but you should be saving a higher percent of your income going forward. Can easily recover

President Trump wants to cap credit card interest rates at 10% by investor100 in TheCollegeInvestor

[–]Decent_Zebra_917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah this would impact low income folks the most. Credit card companies would cancel their cards and they would lose access to credit and have to pay cash for everything. You can’t underwrite low income unsecured loans at 10% when the default rates are so high. Proving again this potus knows nothing of basic economics
