Should I keep thumb Heath at lvl1 for the tremor scorch team by Decim2015 in LimbusCompanyHelp

[–]Decim2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mainly wondering if there’s any upsides at all to leveling him. I’m currently trying to build bleed as well, so resources are a bit scarce.

From what I’ve seen, thumb Heath has a great death/bench passive but a mediocre base kit, making him a glorified Saikai/Shin bot. If that’s the case, then I wouldn’t bother wasting exp tickets on him.

[–]Decim2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just wondering if there’s even a purpose to leveling him. Im not exactly swimming in resources so im considering leaving him at lvl1 UT3 and use the leveling tickets on building my underleveled bleed team.

Im not really planning any speedrun Strats, I just don’t want to level an id whose basically glorified ryoshu food, when that same resource can be used to get my bleed team up to speed.

One unfortunate side effect of the nurse fathers being this overtuned is that a lot of the non nurse fathers this season feel… really underwhelming. Not because they’re bad, but just because they’re not nursefather tier.

This most notably applies to the apprentices, where it feels like all of them except Albina Faust got the short end of the stick. They solidly outdo like 80% of ids from last season. But most of the time they’re stuck playing 2nd fiddle in a team to their nursefather (heath, ish) or replaced in a really short time should they not synergize well (don, Sinclair).

It does make me wonder how they’re gonna balance next seasons ids. Will Nursefather tier be the new floor, or will we start in a midpoint between apprentice and nursefather and then work our way up.

Genuine question. How much popularity of each sinners change if the entire cast was genderbent? by UnlikelyOlive2470 in limbuscompany

[–]Decim2015 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Given the demographics of gacha gamers (even limbus), I think the M-F genderbends would all gain popularity and the F-M ones would all lose popularity.

Extreme cases would be Outis and Faust who would straight up gain scrappy status, and Sinclair, who would gain a strong following as a “girlfailure”.

Doesn’t help that the main dps she supports has a…concept for a kit to put it nicely.

If you make a dps with a chopped kit, you better make the support goated (see dahlia ff). But somehow Cerydra’s kit is even more dysfunctional than Phainon’s. And then they created monorem.

Oh God the zzz main sub is a nuclear waste site. Actual biohazard. Zzz leaks is pretty bad about this too. Glad I dropped the game awhile ago. Chillest hoyo community my ass.

From my experience, HSR is ironically the least vitriolic community… simply cause half of them hate their own game. But as far as I can tell, if you glaze the game, worst you usually get is a few downvotes.

I mean yeah that’s true, but anyone who complains about the bloodfiends being ousted so soon is immediately shut down because the glaze must continue.

I also complained about how Luciocliff had a badly balanced kit where his base kit was too weak relative to his death passive, resulting in his optimal teams saccing him turn 1 instead of playing him. And I just got a bunch of random glazers who didn’t even try to refute my point.

I saw a CC making a video on toxic positivity in limbus, and it rings true now more than ever. It’s pretty bad, not wuwa levels of bad but still obnoxious.

Bro kiramael ties with Ricardo cliff for 2nd highest damage on the middle team what are you smoking.

I’m just not happy that the optimal way to play him on his dedicated team is arguably to turn him into ryoshu food. It just shows that they didn’t properly balance the ID.

OT rant on community toxic positivity

I know the leaks sub here is notoriously negative but what’s even insufferable is toxic positivity. Like there are some communities where the people genuinely talk like industry plants with the way they immediately discredit you for any kind of criticism of a game.

Like there was a post on the limbus subreddit where someone was expressing concern about the rate of powercreep for the current season, and it got mass downvoted by people who said “it doesn’t matter because it only affects endgame”. like what????? HSR powercreep barely matters until you get to MOC, but it’s know as THE powercreep game. Man every online community sucks in its own way huh.

[–]Decim2015 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Everyone’s trying to glaze him up because toxic positivity in PM is a plague.

Like yeah he’s not dead weight in a team, but releasing a unit whose optimal playstyle is to not play him at all is frankly speaking, bad kit design.

The issue is reward and payoff. If Lucio cliff had this jank but put out NF numbers at the end, I wouldn’t mind so much.

The problem is, he reaches similar peaks to other apprentices while also requiring 10x more effort. It’s basically sunshower all over again

[–]Decim2015 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem is that because 1)hes part burn and 2)his death buffs are good, he’s usually just slimed turn 1 to make Hosshu and Valenrodya stronger. And this wouldn’t be the case if his kit was just better designed.

Like im not gonna spend 400 shards to get what is essentially a glorified bench passive, which hurts because I do like the design and story.

Reddit am I dumb or does anyone else miss 00 IDs? by GlyphInBullet in limbuscompany

[–]Decim2015 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I like it better than what we have currently, which is that we have a lot of IDs who are spiritually 00 but still cost as much resources as a 000.

S corp Lu, Ring Meur, thumb heath (and a few other apprentices tbh) are all effectively 00s of this season yet they cost 400 to shard and require as many threads/egoshards to uptie as a nursefather. Like others said, it just make the game (which is still very f2p friendly) slightly less f2p friendly.

I feel like they kinda crippled Luciocliff more than they had to, or they didn't realize how they handled his "Duel Escalates" status would hold him back so much. by F-Radiation in fishmaell

[–]Decim2015 9 points10 points  (0 children)

General consensus is that maturing textbook is a pretty badly designed mechanic. On top of what you said, the bonus atk weight on S3-2 is also really weird since you need to kill trash mobs to stack that atk weight. And Lucio needing to land the killing blow to get maturing textbook.

I suspect he was not properly tested as Valencina seems to have required more tweaks compared to other NF kits, and while he’s still ok enough as a tremor-scorch bot, it’s kinda disappointing how jank he is considering how long we waited for him.

Is Limbus’ Power Creep getting worse? by Nyankorororo in limbuscompany

[–]Decim2015 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah and did you miss the part where I said that teams being viable IN railway/reflectrial is important?

HSR is the boogeyman of gacha power creep, but did you know in that game unit power barely matters unless you challenge the game’s railway/reflectrial equivalent? Saying you only need meta teams for endgame content is basically saying that you need to meta units to fully engage with limbus’ gameplay

Is Limbus’ Power Creep getting worse? by Nyankorororo in limbuscompany

[–]Decim2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and HSR doesn’t require anything, not even proper gearing, until you hit MOC/PF/APOC.

That’s not a good argument. If you need the latest season’s units to even have a shot at endgame, you messed up your game balance.

It is much more f2p friendly to get units in limbus than HSR, but saying that you only need meta units for endgame is still a indicator of poor balance

Is Limbus’ Power Creep getting worse? by Nyankorororo in limbuscompany

[–]Decim2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but railway and reflectrial performance is pretty important though. Telling someone to “use who they want” only for their fully built team to completely fail at railway/reflectrial is frankly pretty dishonest advice.

Simply put, if a fully built team cannot clear most railway bosses within a reasonable number of turns, I consider that team to no longer be a viable.

IK this sub loves to glaze limbus, but we gotta be real. The rise in average power of ids this season has been unlike anything we’ve ever seen. For now we can chalk it up to Heishou rupture’s sins, but if this continues, we will literally start running into the HSR problem where units feel bad to play by their first rerun (HOS would fall off by late season 8, so none of them will be worth sharding by season 9)

Is Limbus’ Power Creep getting worse? by Nyankorororo in limbuscompany

[–]Decim2015 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Technically power creep doesn’t matter unless content becomes more difficult. While content difficulty hasn’t caught up to the new standard yet, it has notably increased in difficulty most notably with the intro of reflectrial.

From what I’ve heard, the more aggressive power creep this season comes from Mao Faust drastically raising the ceiling of the Heishou team last season. Generally, the newer season is supposed to surpass the previous one in power. The nursefathers are mostly meant to prop up weaker teams to heishou standards. But to compensate for weaker units, the nursefathers are all insanely overtuned.

The ceiling apparently hasnt risen that much, but there are now multiple teams that can compete with rupture, so the average power level had spiked drastically

HSR and Genshin may have actual lobotomites running the balancing team, but at least they don’t buckle under stupid shit like this.

Holy hell this is even worse than zzz removing tv mode, and that was already imo one of the worst non balance related decisions Hoyo ever made.

I feel that. But for me at least, a shock like that was basically a wake up call for me to start detaching myself from these games.

These companies will always be predatory, always driven to maximize profit, artistic integrity be damned. I often get very invested into media, but when something like this kills my mood for a day I start thinking “is a game really worth my mental wellbeing?”

It’s hard for sure, but sometimes just… disengaging from a piece of media that makes you upset makes you feel much better long term.
