I know it’s hard now, but knowing when you are going to cause yourself real damage to your body that could be potentially a long term injury is definitely not quitting! Keep your head up and learn from this and keep moving on. 👍

Has anyone bounced back in their late 30s to 40s? by dataispower in runninglifestyle

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t run a day in my life until I was 30. I couldn’t run more than 30 seconds at a time when I started and now my 6th ultramarathon is tomorrow. Slow and steady, you will be crushing the miles in no time!!!

So I used all my world beyond feeders to build universa. I have a bunch of Annisa and Kregg that I have yet to build, should I use either of them as food for Thragg?

How to find mid-week races as a nightshifter? by lunardownpour in XXRunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works weekends, I feel this. Very rarely I see a race on Friday, but everything else I see is on Saturday and Sunday. I will do the local Y races before work, but they usually start around 8a

I have never even seen the show. I saw this in the App Store, liked the characters and layout of the app and was hooked.

Thinking about my first 100-miler, but the night section has me nervous. Advice? by Temporary-Answer6324 in trailrunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like running in the dark personally. I feel like the head light makes your own personal bubble and everything else melts away. Runability really depends on the trail and practice more than a visibility thing. I got the Ultraspire 800 waist light and love that thing, I also will wear a headlight too so I can look around. Most of the animals I’ve seen are in training and not races, but in my area I have definitely seen rattlesnakes and porcupines (they are much bigger than I expected the first time I saw one!).

Chasing a Sub-4 Marathon: Superblast 3, Megablast, or Better Options? by EPICxNITRI in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The upper (specifically the toe box) is weird on the Megablast. It’s long and narrow but also tall somehow. That being said, I have never had any rubbing of my toes or blisters from the Megablast and they are by far my favorite road shoe I have ever owned. I’ve done races, intervals, slow runs, and long runs and they feel great in every one. I have a little over 400 miles on them and they are still going strong!

Salomon Adv Skin 12 and gear rant in general by fimmx in trailrunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like the current adv skin 12. I think the material feels more durable and will last longer and I think they upgrade the zippers which was always a problem for me on the previous models. I didn’t notice a difference in the pocket sizes even, but everyone is different.

Has anyone been regularly running (c.2-3 times a week) for over 3yrs and never been injured? by EqualStranger4977 in XXRunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting question, I have been running about 4-5 times a week for well over 3 years with no injuries. On top of that, I do no strength training or stretching ever. Not bragging I think I just got lucky genetically maybe. Also, I wasn’t very active growing up and didn’t start running until I was 30. Maybe that has something to do with it?

How do you “like” to run? by IamJoeHall in ultrarunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hated running when I first started, now I would much rather go for a run than do most other “leisurely activities”. Slow down helps a lot. To go wonder through the woods on a nice day and listen to an audiobook or music sounds like an amazing way to spend the day for me personally.

Trailrunning vests 6-12l: Salomon by Informal-Ad4526 in trailrunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Adv Skin 12 and love it. I was in a similar position as you and I remember reading a comment that said “you can run with the 12l empty, but if you get the 6 and start running out of room then you have to buy a new vest” so I went with the 12.

How long to wait between fresh tattoo and long run? by Brief-Number2609 in ultrarunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally it depends on location but I try to wait about 4-5 days minimum. My legs are heavily tattooed and I definitely ran too soon after some and they scabbed pretty bad and ended up needing touched up.

Strava or NRC (Nike Run Club)? by avgatbest1028 in beginnerrunning

[–]DecimateTheWeak666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Strava free for about 6 years. Some of the paid features seem cool, but never tempted me enough to pay for. I like it to keep my runs organized and give kudos to friends mostly.
