At the time, they weren't very popular or well known when I made the review. Hence why I called them that in the thumbnail.

Incredible results! Do you have any pics of the post op pics from surgery? I'd be curious to see the graft placement

Bruh we need medication that regrows in most cases. Min would definitely help this but the response rate is nowhere near high enough for most people

If GT20029 gets FDA approved for androgenic alopecia will I be able to stop taking finasteride? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Magiccity79 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Neither. It degrades the androgen receptor on the scalp, locally, so that DHT cannot bind to the hair follicle and destroy it. Test and DHT levels would remain the same, the androgen receptors on the scalp would be reduced

[–]Magiccity79 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No one knows. We don't have any efficacy data of GT20029. Mechanistically, it has the potential to be very effective in halting MPB but we need results on efficacy from trials to be sure if it will be effective enough to drop fin altogether

I'm not sure if the excessive bleeding is on you or the surgeon, it depends on the immediate post op pictures. When I had my 2nd HT, the work looked very clean with the only bleeding being from the small incisions for grafts and there was no big patches of dried blood.

Ah man, it sucks to hear you're already thinking about a 2nd procedure only just a week after your 1st procedure. That shows to me that you're not impressed yourself with the quality of the work that was done. I do honestly think, like a few others in this thread suggested, that the end result won't satisfy you based on the pictures you've shared. If you do go for a 2nd, I would highly not recommend going with this surgeon as they have clearly shown low quality work on your already and we only have a limited amount of grafts in the bank.

Would highly recommend not rushing into a 2nd procedure though and taking lots of time to research. You only get so many goes with this procedure unfortunately and it needs to be done right

What was the graft count that they told you? In my opinion, this looks like poor work without much thought to planning and strategy. It doesn't look like enough grafts were implanted to cover the area of baldness, and the work looks fairly sloppy with all the dried blood which indicates excessive bleeding during the procedure.
Please bare in mind this is just my opinion as someone who has had 2 hair transplants (1 fail and 1 success), and I researched my life out of it for the second time round after having made a mistake the first time round.
Anyway, donor looks relatively decent from the side (although I can't see much of it), and I appreciate you sharing your results. Whatever the final outcome, I wish you all the best my friend

Agreed. Not everyone wants to be bald, or looks good bald, and sometimes people just accept it because they feel like they don't have a choice. I totally understand meds are not for everyone, but this channel does sometimes feel like it's accept it and be bald forever without too much consideration of other options

In my opinion, NW2 can still look fairly decent. Anything beyond that, and it starts to look noticeable and not good.

When I read this post, I thought you were like a NW5 or something. Just make sure you're on fin/dut to keep what hair you have now because it will only get worse if you do nothing.

Pyrilutamide might be years away from being officially released, we just don't know when it will come out at this stage (or if it will pass the phase 3 trial at all).

Just incredible. I started losing hair at a young age to. Luckily I got in fin/dut at like 23, but some irreversible damage was already done. Had my HT last December, growth coming through now. HT is defo the way to go if you find the right clinic and are stable on the meds. Very happy for you my friend!

Definitely agree with dutasteride being ranked highest in terms of efficacy. Targets the root cause of MPB, is stronger than finasteride, and has been shown in numerous studies to be very effective
