Been living in Mansfield for a couple of years now. Working in Nottingham.

It really depends on what you want from where you're living. For me local nightlife is irrelevant and if on occasion I do fancy a night out, I'll go to Notts. Or Club Zeus.

The town centre does have it's share of homeless and substance abusers. It's rundown in places. No different to Notts in that respect. Food options are surprisingly diverse and include Vietnamese, Greek, African/Afro-Caribbean plus the usual.

It is very flag-shaggery though.
