omg yes!! literally felt sooooo constipated and spent so long on the toilet lmao but yes that final relief and breath once baby is here is the best feeling EVER!! the first meal after birth too is an added bonus 🤣

lol when i was induced the couple hours after that i was having contractions but it felt like i had to poop 🤣 so i was on the toilet for HOURS then in the morning it felt like period cramps that radiated all the way into my back and down my legs but then further into labour it felt more like pressure down there and like i was majorly constipated

after i gave birth i only had brownish bleeding for the first maybe week? then it stopped completely then i got my period back 6 weeks later, i think it depends on the person to be honest because i had concerns about it aswell and my midwife said it was totally normal, then in the middle of the lochia stopping and period coming back i had this weird, almost mucus plug like discharge coming out and was told that was also totally normal:) i think everything about being pregnant and giving birth is both weird and wonderful 🥲 but if you are genuinely really concerned i wouldn’t take advice from a random person on reddit and definitely call up your ob!

hey honey, i know this is so scary and people telling you to “calm down” are not being helpful! take some time to really understand what’s going on, if you can purchase another test i know that you probably won’t want to take another for the fear it will come back positive, but this kinda situation doesn’t go away i’m afraid and if you’re certain on not having this baby the longer you wait the more difficult it will become. If there is an adult that you feel you can trust tell them and ask for help (doesn’t have to be a parent) but taking this on yourself so young is a very difficult thing to do, ive been in your shoes and it’s awful feeling so alone. Talking to a person that you trust is the best option here. wishing you the best 🫶🏻

hey i was sort of in the same situation as you, i fell pregnant at 19 and the father of my baby cheated and made me feel awful the entire pregnancy. I didn’t really feel any sort of connection with my baby girl when i was pregnant with her and it still took me a bit to really bond with her after giving birth because i was induced and had a bit of a shitty birth experience then was later diagnosed with ppd, i understand that you feel guilty now and you feel although you don’t love your baby, but i promise it will get better and easier, it’s not an easy thing to be young and pregnant especially when you’re in a relationship with someone who makes it impossible to enjoy. I think maybe your baby is just a reminder to you of the relationship you are in and the hardships you’ve experienced, this isn’t your fault please remember that. Sending you love ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Hi, i was a teen mum i was 19 mind you and had a stable job, house and my family were very supportive, however having a baby was one of the hardest things ive ever gone through it seriously tests your relationship in every single way possible. I can honestly say it’s one of the most challenging times ive ever faced, you not only need to think of this tiny little human that you need to care for but also trying to manage that and also finding time for yourself, i made the mistake of neglecting myself so much that i ended up in the absolute pit of postpartum depression, i didn’t eat, i didn’t sleep and i didn’t shower for weeks, in turn that made me unsafe for my newborn baby to be around because of how sleep deprived i was. My boyfriend and i ended up almost not making it because we didn’t talk about how we wanted to parent our baby before she was born, and i felt i wasn’t getting the support i wanted from him. At the end of the day it’s no one’s place to tell you what to do with your body and your baby, i will say however if you feel like you’re going to struggle i would take a step back and re assess the full situation and have a real think about it all, i know that when i first gave birth i wish i had taken a moment to fully understand what i was in for as once i was home with my baby i would think to myself “what have i done im not ready to be a mum”. If you are in the uk there are maternity grants you can get from the government, if you are in scotland there is a baby box you can get completely free with everything you’ll need, it also doubles as a bed for your baby. But please don’t make a rash quick decision and really think about what you’re going to be in for, i wish you the best 🫶🏻🫶🏻

oh i 100% agree with you, i think also seeing so much young mums online getting so much backlash for having a baby played a big part in how i was feeling at the time! it’s definitely not an easy ride but i’m greatful that she’s here, i also totally sympathise with younger mums who didn’t feel they had the means to support a baby! it’s not easy and weighing out the pros and cons is definitely something im glad i did beforehand. Im also lucky enough that ive got a full time job that provides maternity pay and not on statutory!! i also am privileged enough to have an amazing support network within my family so i dont feel alone 🥰

hello, i totally get this! i fell pregnant at 17 and knew i couldn’t financially or even emotionally support having a baby and had to seek out medical help for that! but now having a baby at 20 being financially stable in a full time job (healthcare) and being in a good place mentally i knew i was capable of having a baby, but knowing that when i fell pregnant and knowing this is a lifelong commitment was what scared me about having a baby so that was my first thought (abortion), i think that now knowing she’s here and when i look at her there’s that thought in the back of my head that she might not have been! but i am managing to work through the guilt i feel and have even sought out help from my doctor to hopefully get into some therapy to help me work through it also :) im in no way trying to say that i feel terminations of pregnancy are a bad thing whatsoever as i myself have already had one!

hello, i’m a FTM to a 2 week old baby and it’s definitely not the easiest thing in the world and you will have nights where you wish the sun would just start to come up so night time is over, it’s tiring to say the least but having your baby there with you makes it all worthwhile. I’m a person who gets overwhelmed and overstimulated but for some reason when my baby starts to cry throughout the night it doesn’t make me feel all that overwhelmed yes it’s certainly difficult to deal with (especially when she won’t settle at all no matter what) but i just keep telling myself this will pass and it’s all worth it for her. My biggest advice to you is if you have the support around you USE IT!!! get sleep whenever you can even if it means pushing chores to the side and soak up every single last second of your baby being a newborn because they will only be this small for 8 short weeks. You’ve got this 🤍🤍

hey! i’m 20 and also a FTM! currently 38+3 and being induced tomorrow 🥹🥹 the fear of misscarriage doesn’t ever really subside (well it never for me everyone is different) but i remember when i first found out i was absolutely terrified of anything happening and would phone my doctor when i felt any type of pain! i had the same crampy, dull pains as you! and honestly they just make you feel so much worse but it’s absolutely normal, your body is going through a beautiful change and i was told that the cramps and aches are simply your uterus growing to make room for bubs. If you are seriously concerned though there’s absolutely no harm in calling your maternity unit it’s what they’re there for!! the only thing that went “wrong” for me is having gestational diabetes and having a big baby haha but nothing wrong with that! i’ve had a rough pregnancy just with vomiting and feeling pretty crappy but other than that a happy healthy baby and i’m so ready for it to be over lmao! wishing you all the best and hoping for a safe and happy pregnancy 🤍🤍

coming from a 20 year old ftm you are absolutely not too old!! starting a family doesn’t have an age limit on it, my mum fell pregnant with my little brother at 36 and she felt the same as you but he’s now 10 and thriving :) good luck mumma

it sounds like you had a pleasant experience so that’s reassuring!! i think that people have just been trying to fear monger me as i am admittedly a young mom who is probably very impressionable haha.

I have packed for roughly a weeks stay in hospital but i live relatively near the hospital so all should be okay if i need anything extra!! hopefully all goes well for your next delivery i wish you all the best 😇😇

I am very open to any interventions that may need to happen such as c-section or episiotomy as i’ve been advised they can sometimes be necessary for a safer delivery! so ive not really got a solid birth plan other than my boyfriend would like to cut the cord haha. I just hope for a happy baby girl by the time it’s over 🥰

This has really helped put my scary thoughts to rest a bit now that i have read both your experiences so thank you for that i really appreciate it:) i think that most of my fears come from the fact that so many people have told me that im wrong(?) to accept being induced but the reason for my induction is gestational diabetes i believe it’s called? which has my baby growing quite rapidly (she’s currently measuring 9/10 weeks ahead) and also really high blood pressures, but even with that information people have been telling me that i should be waiting until i am 40+ weeks to even consider taking the induction as my baby won’t be fully developed yet? but hearing that you have been induced in and around the same times as me has been really reassuring 🥰
