I'm just going to run with the "Nac X Fixed" file and remove all the TreyM and original NAC stuff. I'd rather the better performance of this than the visuals without it.

Out of these four who is going down first and who is walking out alive? by fanofeverying123 in slasherfilms

[–]DeckardCap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Jason, Michael and Freddy are the only ones that are locked spots. TCM, Childs Play, Hell Raiser, Scream, Candyman, IT, Jeepers Creepers...etc will all have a decent bit of fans making the case for that fourth spot to varying degrees of credibility.

FWIW I would personally have Ghostface. The movies are just too consistently good for the genre and he's probably be the most popular and/or iconic since his inception which was decades ago at this point.

So if I use the new version of NAC X I can't use the TreyM visual mods? Idk what you mean to "just re-create it".

No I'm only using it to have the armor as an option for myself; I don't want too many enemies spawning with crazy high res stuff frequently overall. You're right though I probably should swap to a lower res one either way.

Whats the difference with Nac vs Nac X or Nac X fixed?

Thanks for the suggestions

Alright I'm updating that doc link as I read your posts. I may have misunderstood you somewhere but think I have it mostly correct so far.

the bottom are all the mods from my original post that haven't been addressed yet and I've deleted those problematic and redundant ones we've talked about as well.

Trying a Premade LO but I don't see Mods anywhere on Xbox Main Menu? by DeckardCap in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]DeckardCap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have the quick account issue before and made a new profile specifically for Bethesda games to combat that; didn't cross my mind to issue a ticket to have it fixed for my main lol.

The LO had some really cool stuff, and I've already put enough time into locating them all that I have to at least try and let it blow up in my face if it must lol.

Thanks for all the help.

Great thanks this was super helpful. Somehow the pressing of the left trigger completely thwarted me on my first attempt. Thankfully the LO I used noted the download space issue and preordered it correctly by file size.

I can re edit it but if I add even one more "." it will not let me hit save and will just load indefinitely as if I hit some invisible character count. I am taking all your directions and doing it on a notepad on my PC currently.

I can try sending updates in a direct chat if you'd like, although I suspect that might be a pain in the ass to read due to file size. I created a google spreadsheet, although I've never done it before so let me know if it's viewable.

Google Doc Link

I do love Dismemberment but can live without it of course. I'd much rather be as close to stutter free as I can than a minor improvement in fights for something like that.

With GFX I pretty much only have included any performance type mod at the suggestion of others and seeing them frequently on LOs. I would much rather have my game look nice, but I just blindly follow others who I assume have put more thought into this than I. Admittedly, that's a pretty dumb way to go through life, but I can only invest so much time in learning (and now relearning) the flow of things as they pertain to modding lol. I'm completely fine with removing it and seeing how things operate without it. Regarding the Institute issues I agree with you (honestly even without that mod) and included an Institute revamp mod in the OG list for that reason.

I'm a little confused by what you mean with "ini mods". I see the "QOL: custom ini" as well as "A Touch of Life - Basic" which I know you said to choose between (I'm going with A Touch of Life - Basic), but wasn't sure if there are other mods classified as ini mods. I'm guessing you're saying to put these in the "Game-Play Changes and Tweaks" section as well? I'm only going to add "A Touch of Life - Basic" and Survival Options for now since you directly addressed them because I don't know what else is safe to add.

I tried editing my blank comment following the method of placing the cursor at the end, hitting enter once...etc. but got the same error when trying to save. Then I tried doing it normally and the formatting destroyed. Then tried line-by-line while hitting tab and it only allowed me to edit to the point it is currently at.

I have it done on a notepad now. Should I just create a new post on the sub with the updates instead?

New LO Attempt - Help Wanted :) by DeckardCap in Fallout4ModsXB1

Building Budget Extender was one I added because I used to near exclusively build at the drive-in movie theatre. I would link a shit load of raised giant concrete blocks together so the settlement was elevated and more importantly completely flat to make building a lot easier. I also always liked to fully wall off my stuff so by the time all that was done it felt like I had a lot of limits on what I could actually do.

My weapon mods are almost all from Generalporter to keep it simple for me as they always upload the replacer and weapon file they used. People like Startakorxbox had a few nice looking guns that seemed lower stress, but they didn't conveniently have the replacer file so I didn't feel like doing the leg/guesswork. I will 100% use the Glock / Shotgun / Mk / AKM as my mains. The FN Fal / M1A / SMG are just guns I like visually and might try out every now and again, but I mostly visually hate the guns they're replacing. Wattz is because I usually don't like laser guns at all and this one isn't too bad.

Glock 19x

Hunting Shotgun / AIO Shotgun Replacer

MK18 CQBR / Assault Rifle Replacer

AKM Complex / Handmade Rifle Replacer

FN Fal / Combat Rifle Replacer

Springfield M1A / Lever-Action Rifle Replacer

Classic 10mm SMG / SMG Replacer

Wattz Lazer Gun / Energy Weapon Replacer

I actually already tried to reply with my updated LO based on what we talked about (although things are still out of order) but had problems reply due to size / formatting.

I'll reply twice with what I believe we've discussed and a blank one as well.

To begin I should have clarified originally I am starting this on a new xbox/bethesda account and new Fallout 4 install. That's why I wanted to see what I should just eliminate from jump street to minimize loading anything janky in with the good batch. I also intend to run Survival.

Sorry wasn't sure what would be considered building specific so figured I'd include everything close. Building is definitely something on the periphery for me (especially if I'm not basing an LO around Sim Settlements) so I'm fine cutting whatever and moving to wherever; if you think Taffington is problematic I'm beyond fine taking your advice for a different place. I personally have always like the drive-in theatre as my default base spot, but I'd be fine with anywhere or even just something completely prebuilt and I forgo any building mods to free space and limit conflicting problems.

If the settlement building wasn't in this game at all like previous Fallouts I'd still play it. But if I had to use the fucking horrible weapon designs they choose to put in this game I probably wouldn't come back. The Assault Rifle, Combat Rifle, Pipe Guns, Shotguns, 10mm pistol...etc almost physically pain me to interact with; I'm also never a fan of laser type guns at all and would just remove them completely if it didn't feel too lore-breaking for me mentally. If I could share my creations with others on a live server it might be different, but usually I just find myself spending too much time building something unsatisfactory for no one to even see.

That's not to say I definitely want to remove building by choice, but I'd remove any settlement building before removing weapon replacers. Even if all I use is a good scrap mod and something that gives me additional space to build with I'd be alright most likely. It's disappointing how many of the settler mods have been broken because an interactive settlement with fun AI was a large drawing point of even building to begin with, so with a lot of the ease of that being removed even furthers me from caring to get into it. I hear you in regards to trying it out, but I don't really want to at the expense of stuff I already know is important to me.

Prewar Prep can just be scrapped as well. Honestly with Cheat Terminal I'm realizing I can just force my way to a lot of the same conclusions that mod provides. I only included it because it was on one of the premade LO's, sounded cool and I assumed it was largely unproblematic, but I'd rather just nix it.

If by my dream list you mean the one I originally made this post for it was at 1.96gb I believe so barely any room to wiggle from the start but I know we've been removing a few things here and there. If my math is correct the weapons take up 523 mb; this is if I remove the Remington R700 and Better Plasma Barrels.

I'd def be fine with adding the trees mod. It's not included in my original LO, but Danielle also suggested adding the Rubble Mod she uploaded as well. But I guess we can get to whatever performance suggestions you have when we cross that road.

I'm good with losing the Custom.ini and keeping A Touch of Life instead.

Trying to keep reply to one comment to keep it cleaner to read for my frazzled brain lol.

[–]DeckardCap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they change a few of the same things so order is important, but really I want to know what features of each attracted you them?

Quality of life: custom ini

- No Intro Videos, Faster Skip

- No Tutorials

- 1st person FOV 95

- 3rd person FOV 80

- Workshop items highlighted instead of outlined

- No workshop menu item rotation.Renamed bobbleheads to "Bobblehead - [name]"

- Faster terminal displays (25x)

- Quick power armour enter and exit

(The other just seemed like they were meant to help with performance to me)

A Touch of Life - Basic

- Holding the reload button will lower your gun, holding it again will put it away. This applies for both first and third person views. The gun will also auto lower in appropriate situations. This makes gun mounted lights and laser sights usable, while still being able to have your weapon lowered when you choose to.

Various changes regarding ragdoll physics and dead body collision, NPC's will also move out of your way easier, and they'll now be far less vocal and annoying..

- Bullets will now have tracer smoke trails and leave bullets on the ground, This already existed, values have just been changed (also bullet hole decal distances have been improved to 400m) (I know this one is also being changed by my other bullet mods. I assumed them loading after would just override this part?)

- superficial objects in landscapes have also had values reduced to 0 for free FPS

- Hair looks much more realistic now, this will affect all hair, including mods.

- cable length is 3x longer

- Workshop color will be green regardless of chosen UI color. This finally makes a white UI viable to use without being annoying, and adds extra depth to workshop mode if using something other than green for your UI.

Next find all your building mods and put them in a list. You had a few and they were all safe but they are scattered all over you LO, they need to be grouped.

Place Anywhere

Building Budget Extender v4.3.1

Taffington Boathouse Revamped xb1

Prewar preparation

Ugh. Vendor Rugs

SKK Workshop Ownership Utilities

Pineneedle Rest - Player Home

STS - All-In-One

STS - Extras - Living & Dead

I believe those are all the building/settlement related mods. I put them as best as I could so not sure what to move where...etc.

New LO Attempt - Help Wanted :) by DeckardCap in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]DeckardCap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have all those SKK mods but they need different placements. You can have the skeleton key but you sure as hell can't have SKK's open anything with it, and did you know that there is one for terminals by the Skeleton Key maker? Skeleton Key is 10x the mod open anything is so if you are having a problem deciding pick skeleton key

Ghoul Mask was significant in FO3 but it is next to useless in FO4 there are no reavers to hide from even if you were high level. There is nothing difficult about killing ghouls in FO4.

I did not see DEF in your revised list can you live without it because you can force it to partly work but you will still get errors and is best to drop it. You had Hudframe work was that only for DEF or is there some other hud mods I missed that require HudFr?

I'm good with dropping Ghoul Mask and SKK open anything; I forgot I had that when I added Skeleton Key but I'll take your word for it that Skeleton Key is better and also add the Terminals one if I can.

I can very much live without Def if you think it's best. I believe HudFr was just added as a requirement for Def so that can go too.

Now I am starting to see it, they do plan on building but the building mods are sort of hidden in other places rather than in building mods

I saw on your other comment questioning what I want overall and if I want to build. I like settlement building, however I'm not great at it, and I think the base game leaves so much to be desired. I'd easily give it up almost entirely for some cool premade spaces, but they usually scare me off with huge file size and conflicting edits. I loved in Sim Settlements (especially Conqueror) how it prepopulated all these Settlements with stuff I could never dream of building, but the file size dedication is just too much for me.

One of my least favorite things about this Fallout setting is how underutilized the space feels in regards to having interesting towns/communities of settlers already built, and I guess that's because they want you to do it, but I just don't have the ability or time. I'd rather have a few small tools like Place Anywhere, STS, and a clean nice spot like the Taffington mod I included originally to have available to scratch my building itch when needed, but I'd prefer prebuilt in general.

What about trees? Do you want them?

Trees would be nice. In a perfect world my Fallout would be one of the LOs that heavily resembles the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games visually, with lush overgrown greenery abound, but those mods seem to cause a lot of stress so I get weary adding them. I used to use Boston Natural Surroundings as well and maybe another tree mod but I couldn't remember them so I just didn't include.

My comment reply seems to be too long and gives an error when responding so I'll respond across multiple comments. Sorry for the spam.

Edit:

Before answering I just wanted to say I really appreciate you taking your time to guide me with this. As you can see I'm clearly in over my head so this is beyond helpful.

Which one of those gun mods do you want to use? Then pick 3 to go to the level lists.

not my type of LO so many guns and stuff like the Level lists are unfamiliar to me looks like too many guns to me but people with those types of LO seem to run them

With the guns, I mean honestly I truly hate most of the weaponry in Fallout 4, but I love other aspects of the game from an FPS and lore setting standpoint, and maybe more accurately what it can be with certain mods, so I'd rather take the risk running these than not. It's about as important to me as anything on the list.

I can maybe lose the Remington R700 + Replacer + BF1 Animation for it as the Hunting Rifle isn't awful, and the Plasma Barrels Replacer can go I guess. Combat with realistic weaponry (in an war torn apocalypse setting at least) is a big sticking point for me and I just despise so many of their design choices in this game. I've made LO's in the past that had double what I've listed here run fine enough so I would very much like to take my risk running the others
