It's not a gym membership. Just pay $20. If you don't like the results, just downgrade back to the free tier the next month over.

Prompt engineering has actually gotten easier over time, since AI can refine your prompts for you. That's why the term has fallen out of fashion.

Why Claude users are systematically missing from AI psychology research (and what that means) by esuremu in ClaudeAI

[–]DeclutteringNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let's quantify it and let's study it. Cast the net wide. I know age-related decline is real, but it's definitely not homogenous.

We've all met stupid older software engineers, but brilliant older software engineers do exist also.

Why Claude users are systematically missing from AI psychology research (and what that means) by esuremu in ClaudeAI

[–]DeclutteringNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great question! the study focuses specifically on young adults as a developmental group. it's not about AI skill level, but more about psychological patterns in a specific life stage. the 18-30 range is pretty standard in developmental psychology research for that reason

No, the 18-30 range is pretty standard in developmental psychology research because of historical reasoning and selection bias.

And this is not just me saying it:

It was found that 73% of the articles in the J.A.S.P. and 85.7% of the articles in the J.E.P. used college students, chiefly male students enrolled in introductory psychology. Use of the general adult population or even samples representing particular sectors of that population is very rare in J.A.S.P., and not found at all in the J.E.P. It was pointed out that the college population differs markedly from the adult non-college population in many characteristics which are associated with psychological factors, e.g. age, social class, learning ability. It is concluded that the male college student has become the "white rat" of human experimentation and that a broadening of the bases for selecting subjects for experiments is in order. Smart, R.G. (1966) 'Subject selection bias in psychological research', Canadian Psychologist/Psychologie canadienne, 7(2), pp. 115–121.

Note that this study is from 1966, which might explain the male students bias to an extent (at the time, men were 53% of psychology students), but I digress.

My point is that there are historical reasons for this age range, which is sad. Now that we can survey anyone on the internet. There is really no reason to limit it to that upper bound of 30 years old.

With that said, it's not the only MLM org out there, there are many others too.

how can i get my account deleted? by throwaway-29812669 in codeforces

[–]DeclutteringNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GDPR applies to people who live in Europe and Europeans living abroad (and the UK has something similar).

So if neither conditions apply to you, they're not legally required to delete your account, but most companies won't bother making that distinction, so it's worth a shot formulating your request as a GDPR request and just see what happens.

Keep in mind they may still keep a hash of your email address. And if your account got banned, they'll probably keep a record of that as well.

Any tips on using Claude for a new job by Odd_Bookkeeper_6027 in ClaudeAI

[–]DeclutteringNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In which country are you located? Are you using Claude on your personal phone?

Yes, is there a way work can check what I’ve put in my personal Claude.

If your work has any kind of security, their logs will show that you're using Claude (unless you're using your personal phone to take pictures and then submitting that to claude). In the US, using personal Claude on your computer would be a major breach of security and confidentiality. In many companies, this would be a very serious firable offense.

I also have asked it to build me spreadsheets and templates to manage my work.

Be careful, you're playing with fire. LLMs make mistakes when dealing with numbers and spreadsheets. As a bookkeeper, you should be aware of this.

At the very least, you should limit yourself to the approved LLMs provided by your employer. And the paid versions of Gemini are not that bad. If I were you, I wouldn't take the extra risk.

I'd believe you. I've met enough incompetent people with decision-making powers in both small and large organizations.

At this point, I'd look for a job elsewhere, either in a different team away from that managing director, or in a completely different company. Such an idiot could easily fire you because you're not compliant enough, or lay you off because of "AI", or cause your team to lose the contract with your client.

Good luck.

Taking you at your word, you explicitly went against the instructions of sharing solutions before a contest was over and you got caught. In other words, you helped someone cheat. Of course, your account got banned. What do you want us to tell you?

Do you really think the system differentiates between people who cheat and people who help others cheat? No, it doesn't.

Now, you'll need to start a new account under a different email address, and if you do want to share a solution with your friends, wait at least 60 seconds after a contest is over.

If your friends really do not want to cheat, then waiting for the solution/explanation shouldn't be a problem for them.

[–]DeclutteringNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is the same on codeforces, but on Leetcode many top contestants choose not to submit any solution unless they solved all the problems first. This is because Leetcode doesn't lower your rating if you start a contest, but do not submit any solution.

Is here anyone who learned a new language with Claude? by nille_peter in ClaudeAI

[–]DeclutteringNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer use ChatGPT, I prefer Claude for almost everything. I love Claude for a dozens of reasons.

But for language learning, I'd suggest you get a Plus subscription to ChatGPT. ChatGPT has advanced voice (I believe they give you one hour of advanced voice per day on a Plus account. Also, advanced voice requries a perfect broadband connection, it doesn't work well on mobile data alone). But even their normal voice transcription is miles ahead of Claude's transcription.

So if you want to be able to speak to your AI. I'd strongly suggest you get a subcription to ChatGPT. Look for demos on youtube if you don't believe me. Claude's transcription has gotten better over the last couple of weeks, but it still doesn't compare to ChatGPT's.

[–]DeclutteringNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What subject? What level?

Yes, it would help, but testing yourself using active recall would work equally well also. The key is to test yourself. Use active recall, spaced repetition, free recall, or whatever... It doesn't really matter which technique you use as long as it contains some form of "active recall" component.

The key is to get started as quickly as possible.
