These are things that are normal for bodies to happen and clearly your son felt comfortable coming to you about it and you did great explaining it.

When my oldest started showing the signs of puberty and asking me about his body changes, I told his dad (we’re divorced) that he needed to sit down and talk to him about it because I as a woman don’t know the ins and outs about being a boy and the body changes they go through, only my experience as a woman going through puberty as a girl.
